Ciao bellas!
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another instalment of my #PinkTutuRome adventure! This week, my heart is overflowing with excitement - we're deep in the heart of Italy's vibrant capital, and let me tell you, it's a pink-tastic explosion of beauty and charm!
Before we get to the delights of Rome, a quick peek at how I got here - a train journey, of course! Nothing beats the romance of whizzing through picturesque countryside, especially when I'm en route to a new, glamorous destination. And what better outfit for the occasion than my new lilac-hued tulle masterpiece – perfect for adding a touch of whimsy to any train journey.
Rome's already captured my heart! The cobbled streets, the buzzing atmosphere, the gelato shops, the majestic Colosseum... it's all so dazzlingly inspiring. Today I'm wearing my signature pink tutu – it's actually a limited edition silk creation, with a gorgeous blush colour – alongside my new floral embroidered bolero. Feeling perfectly whimsical and ready for all the Roman adventures I can squeeze in!
First stop, the breathtaking Trevi Fountain. Did you know that you're meant to throw a coin in the fountain to guarantee a return trip to Rome? I threw a special coin – a vintage one with a ballerina embossed on it - and it feels so lucky, so it has to mean I’ll be back! This place is even more magical than I could have imagined – a fairytale setting where the water cascades, sparkles and swirls. Just imagine, you could practically pirouette right in amongst it!
Next, a delicious stop for pasta at the quaint little Trattoria Romana on Via Giulia, where they're famed for their decadent carbonara. It was delicious! They had a whole range of classic Roman dishes - gnocchi, ossobuco – the list goes on. And you simply can't resist a slice of their mouthwatering tiramisu, it's seriously heavenly.
Speaking of heavenly, did you know that today is International Day of Peace? I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than by soaking up the beauty and energy of Rome!
This evening, it's a performance at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. The programme features some beautiful excerpts from my favourite ballets: Tchaikovsky's 'Swan Lake', Prokofiev's 'Romeo and Juliet', and 'Giselle'. Can you believe it? A full night of ballet bliss. To mark the occasion, I've dressed up in a sparkling pink tutu, a black lace top, and some shimmery pink ballet pumps. Feeling ready to embrace the artistry, the grace and the sheer magic of ballet under the Italian night sky.
But my adventure doesn't stop at the theatre. I'm determined to soak up the real essence of this stunning city – I’m dreaming of seeing Rome lit up after dark, of indulging in a cheeky cocktail with the twinkling city lights as my backdrop. Maybe even finding a place to practice some street ballet! After all, it's all about finding that perfect blend of culture, art, and the vibrant energy of this incredible place.
Rome has truly stolen my heart. I can’t believe how much beauty, creativity, and history I'm absorbing - each street corner feels like a canvas of art and culture. This city inspires you to live life with passion, and it feels like every corner has its own special story to tell.
And, as always, I’m doing everything I can to spread the pink tutu message wherever I go. So many people have embraced the playful, sassy spirit of my look, and I've even spotted a couple of enthusiastic ballet enthusiasts trying out some pink tutus – such a wonderful feeling! I even saw a little girl who looked so excited trying out some pink tutus and her mother gave her the most beautiful big smile and said: “Oh darling you look fabulous! Maybe you could be a ballerina when you are older!"
