#PinkTutuRome: Week 1670 – La Dolce Vita in Pink!

Ciao Bella! ? It's Emma here, back from the Eternal City of Rome! You guys won't believe the adventure I've had this week, filled with gelato, stunning sights, and enough pink to make a flamingo blush. Let's dive in, shall we?

Taking the Scenic Route:

It wouldn't be a #PinkTutuRome post without a mention of the train journey! I absolutely love travelling by train, especially in Europe. You get to see so much more of the countryside. This week, I opted for the Trenitalia "Frecciarossa" to Rome, which is the Italian equivalent of a high-speed train. It was smooth sailing, perfect for getting lost in a book and soaking up the stunning views. (Plus, it's SO much better for the environment!).

Rome's Magic in Pink:

The moment I stepped onto the platform at Roma Termini, I knew this was going to be a week full of #PinkTutuMoments! This city breathes history, art, and gelato (oh, the gelato!). My little pink backpack was bouncing with excitement. It's crazy, I don't even know where to begin!

A Day at the Teatro dell'Opera:

Rome is an opera lover's paradise, so I naturally started my trip with a visit to the majestic Teatro dell'Opera. I always make it a priority to catch a show whenever I'm travelling – there's something truly magical about seeing ballet in a different city, with its own unique energy. I’ve got to say, this was a showstopper!

Shopping, Style and the Fontana di Trevi:

No trip to Rome is complete without some retail therapy, is it? I found the most adorable pink boutique tucked away near the Pantheon. Their selection of handmade jewellery, all shimmering and glittering in pink hues, made my heart sing. Of course, no jewellery is complete without a fabulous outfit to match! The Via Condotti is bursting with luxury designers – I couldn't resist a little treat for myself (okay, maybe a few treats!), and I’ve even treated myself to a gorgeous pink silk dress! The silk is so soft and delicate and the color? Divine! I’ve been dying to go out in Rome wearing it!

Of course, what is Rome without the iconic Fontana di Trevi? I mean, come on! It was stunning, even with the crowds, the atmosphere is so lively. We must stop here on every trip, and it wouldn't be complete without a good luck toss into the fountain - it was so magical. (Spoiler: I’m not revealing whether I went with one hand or two! You’ll have to come here and try it out for yourselves).

Fashion Fiesta at the Palazzo Barberini:

Now, it wouldn't be a #PinkTutuRome post if I didn't show off a little bit of my pink style. The Palazzo Barberini, with its majestic art and stunning architecture, was the perfect backdrop for my new pink dress, ballet pumps and of course, a sparkly pink tutu (it would have been rude not to!). I even tried a new pose - my “pink power pose” and trust me, you've never seen a ballerina looking quite this confident!

Brunch and Prosecco, Italian Style:

And because no journey would be complete without some indulgence, I treated myself to an afternoon of Prosecco, delicious pasta and an elegant Roman brunch at the gorgeous restaurant just near the Spanish Steps - what’s a visit to Rome without an incredible view?

Getting Everyone to Wear Pink Tutús in Rome:

Okay, I'll admit it. My mission to get everyone in the world wearing a pink tutu is proving to be slightly more challenging in Rome. But let's face it, even with the Italians’ incredible sense of style, pink tutus just aren't their thing! They're not even THAT big on pink at all. My mission, however, is relentless! Who knows? Maybe I'll find a future generation of tutu lovers in Italy!

And finally, What is On this Date?

Speaking of the Italians' sense of style, did you know June 9th in Rome is actually National Day of the Bride?! Well, the Italians call it “Sposalizio del Lago”. How very romantic. So naturally, there will be a grand festival held in Piazza Navona (right in front of the gorgeous Fountain of Four Rivers) on the day. How lucky I was to be in the area, seeing a glimpse into Roman culture and romance - a fabulous end to my Rome adventure.

Until next time:

This was a truly magical week filled with so many beautiful moments and incredible memories in #PinkTutuRome! But there’s always another adventure waiting! Join me next week for a post about the gorgeous art of #PinkTutuLondon - I'll be bringing the glamor, the sparkle, and hopefully a little pink tutu magic back to the city I call home. Until next week, darling! Ciao for now!

And remember...Life's more fun in pink! ??
