Buongiorno, darling readers! Emma here, back with another thrilling #PinkTutuRome post, fresh from the heart of the Eternal City. This week, Rome's embracing me with open arms, its cobbled streets calling my name, and every little trattoria smelling divine.
Rome is, well, Rome! It’s that kind of place that instantly feels familiar even if you’ve never been before. The warmth of the people, the buzz of the streets, the scent of freshly baked bread…it’s all just intoxicating. I swear, my love for pink tutus has been multiplied tenfold by all the beautiful sights, sounds and flavours Rome has to offer. It’s all just so…romantic!
Trainline Travel Adventures
As usual, I’ve taken the scenic train route here – a whistle-stop tour across Europe, complete with endless views and a delightful dose of train travel nostalgia. It was like a fairy tale, really. (My pink tutu, of course, was a shining highlight for the journey! You can't imagine the delighted glances and smiles I received from other travellers, so I was sure to snap a few pics. I’m a sucker for those long train journeys where you get lost in a good book, and the only soundtrack is the rhythmic click-clack of the train wheels on the tracks. It's something I always treasure about my journeys.
A Twinning Tutu Tale
Now, a little anecdote that just has to be shared! So, imagine this: a swanky, chandelier-laden restaurant in the heart of Rome. Me, seated with a glass of chilled Pinot Grigio, about to dig into a plate of pasta…and what do I see but another lady sporting a pink tutu?! We made eye contact across the room, a mutual smile spread across our faces, and there we were – a spontaneous "Tutu Twin" moment. It was absolute magic. The lady, as lovely as her tutu was, turned out to be a professional dancer! What a divine encounter – the universe clearly approves of my mission to get everyone in a pink tutu!
Dance-Inspired Delites
Talking about dancing, I couldn't miss out on seeing a show while I was here! Tonight's all about taking in the grandeur of Teatro dell'Opera di Roma – I've heard their opera ballet performances are exquisite, and you can bet I'll be sharing some snippets from the show in my stories! Shopping & Styling in The Eternal City
No trip to Rome is complete without some serious retail therapy, and I've certainly indulged! I've found myself surrounded by vintage boutiques, leather shops and the most divine accessories - Rome truly knows how to elevate a look! Of course, my shopping adventures have to be tutu-themed – I picked up a magnificent sequined pink tutu from an artisan shop, handmade with the most exquisite details. It's going to be a total show-stopper, just you wait!
Tutu Treats: Food For The Soul
No travel blog is complete without mentioning the food! I have to say, the food in Rome is unreal - fresh pasta, divine pizzas and decadent gelato – it's like a culinary dream. You’d think with all these amazing dishes around I’d ditch the tutus for comfort wear, but nope – my pink tutu isn't just a style choice, it's a way of life. So far, it’s travelled with me to a charming little trattoria in Trastevere (did I mention they make the most amazing carbonara?) to a rooftop terrace overlooking the Roman Forum for the most heavenly sunset view, and of course, to a decadent afternoon tea experience in a centuries-old cafe. My tutus can take on any adventure, any setting, any occasion!
Pink Tutu Goals: The Italian Edition
This whole journey has already fueled a whole new level of excitement about the "Pink Tutu" mission. The locals in Rome love pink, just as much as they love their delicious pastries, lively music and colourful culture. I can just picture myself hosting a flash mob in Piazza Navona, with every passerby sporting a vibrant pink tutu – imagine the sheer joy!
