Ciao, darlings! Emma here, and you’re joining me on a whirlwind tour of the Eternal City. It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means – it's time for a new Pink Tutu post, straight from the heart of Rome! Buckle up, because this week’s adventures are brimming with pink tutus, dazzling fashion, and enough gelato to make your head spin.
As usual, I travelled by train, a true testament to the magic of train travel – the clattering rhythm, the glimpses of countryside as we flew past, and the friendly smiles from fellow passengers all fuel the creativity. This time, I arrived in Rome feeling truly inspired, ready to capture the city’s vibrant energy and weave it into my own sartorial tapestry.
I’ve got a full itinerary planned for this week, starting with an iconic Rome experience: the Colosseum! Imagine, darling, a massive, ancient arena where gladiators battled. The power of it just blows my mind! I made sure my pink tutu was perfectly accessorized with a sleek, Grecian-inspired tunic for this particular visit. A little dash of contemporary flair against the ancient stones – it's a look I’m particularly fond of!
Then, naturally, we'll be immersing ourselves in all things Italian fashion! My trusty pink suitcase is packed to the brim with ready-to-wear ensembles – silky flowy tops, colourful skirts, statement jewelry. It wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Rome post without a quick trip to Via Condotti, a haven of luxurious fashion houses and boutiques, where I’m hoping to snag a beautiful new evening dress to add to my collection.
Of course, it's impossible to resist the allure of the many ballet performances in Rome this week. The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma is hosting the most captivating ballet I’ve seen in ages, “La Sylphide.” Such an incredible story! I'm planning to wear my latest hand-stitched tutu – a magnificent confection of shimmering tulle and exquisite beading – and I just can't wait to experience the magic on stage. It’s a must-do for any true dance enthusiast, and I’ll be sharing all the details in my next post, including photos from the stage!
Now, on to the gelato. Ah, gelato! It’s the perfect afternoon treat after an inspiring stroll through the Piazza Navona. You know me, I love a good swirl of pistachio, stracciatella and… well, maybe some hazelnut, too! My mission this week is to taste the best gelato in Rome and then share my finds with you – because life’s too short for dull gelato.
Speaking of my mission… my mission, my dear readers, is to inspire you, to unleash your inner sparkle. Yes, I am a tutu-wearing, pink-loving, ballet-dancing force of nature! It’s about embracing life's joy, taking those bold steps, and being unapologetically YOU. Because the world needs more colour, more creativity, more pink tutus!
As I explore this stunning city, I'll be capturing every detail in my weekly blog posts. We'll explore secret gardens, dine at charming trattorias, and embrace all the whimsical delights that Rome has to offer. From hidden cafes with the most divine coffee to the awe-inspiring architecture that whispers tales of emperors and gladiators, Rome is an adventure in every corner.
Now, don't be shy! Join me on my adventure by leaving a comment below. Share your thoughts on all things Rome and don't forget to tell me:

(8th September, 2027)
I woke up this morning to the melodic sounds of Rome waking up, the murmur of conversation drifting through the open windows of my quaint hotel. My heart, as always, began to dance. I couldn’t wait to explore!
The day began with a brisk walk through Rome's cobbled streets. I felt a surge of happiness as I observed the locals; mothers in colorful dresses bustling about, the men greeting each other with affectionate pats on the back, a gaggle of excited school children chattering in Italian. I was drawn to the charming street performers, a little street symphony of buskers, singers and artists bringing the city to life.
I couldn’t resist taking some snaps of the vibrant street art – the creative expressions sprawled across buildings are an important part of Rome's visual tapestry.
After my morning adventure, I decided to visit a famous tailor, near the Trevi Fountain, to find the perfect fabric for a new tutu creation. I stumbled across a shop with a vast selection of delicate silks and chiffons, colours and textures I've never seen before. The kind shopkeeper helped me find the perfect, weightless tulle. You know I couldn't resist getting a new bolt for myself, too, of course.
Later, I joined the locals for a late lunch at a cafe overlooking the city’s most magnificent fountain. They serve a truly delectable, simple pasta – fresh, fragrant and perfectly seasoned, washed down with a glass of local prosecco, of course. The afternoon sun cast long shadows over the cafes and piazzas. It’s magical!
From there, it was onto my beloved ballet class. After a few minutes, I'd managed to fully immerse myself in the magic of the movement. My pink tutu swirled around me, a symbol of my passion and love for ballet. The beautiful studio is an intimate haven where dance and artistic expression find their truest home. It's one of those little details that adds so much sparkle to life, and of course, I made sure to get a few shots for the gram before I headed home!
I love being able to find those hidden gems of a place, the quiet streets and hidden gardens where the local pulse thrumms a little more quietly. The energy of Rome, though, is undeniable. I can truly see myself falling in love with the ancient history, vibrant culture and beautiful architecture if I spent longer here.
As my Pink Tutu Rome adventures unfold, you can rest assured I'll be bringing you a piece of it, right here in my weekly posts. Join me next week as we embark on more artistic discoveries and pink-tastic moments. See you soon, darlings!
