Pink Tutu Rome: #1708 - Ciao Bella! ???

Hey everyone! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another installment of Pink Tutu travels, this time from the glorious city of Rome!

Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? This city is just bursting with romance and la dolce vita. I'm absolutely smitten!

The journey here was a dream - I adore travelling by train! The Frecciarossa from Milan was swanky and speedy, the perfect way to arrive feeling glamorous and ready to explore.

Fashion in Rome: I have to admit, the Roman fashion sense is top-notch. So much chic, effortless style! I mean, imagine a whole city full of stylish, graceful Italian women (and men, for that matter!) It's pure inspiration. Of course, I couldn't resist bringing out my signature pink tutu (this one's a light, breezy tulle in a delicious shade of blush pink, perfect for the Roman climate!).

Now, my Roman adventure so far has been filled with all the things that make my heart skip a beat. Here are some of the highlights:

Ballet bliss: Of course, I had to find a ballet school in Rome - it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu trip without it, would it? I popped in to the Scuola di Danza Classica where they welcomed me with open arms, like I was a part of the family.

Cultural Delights: I've already visited the Colosseum and it took my breath away! Those ancient Roman walls just hum with history. Then, a wander through the beautiful Borghese Gallery filled with stunning Renaissance and Baroque sculptures and paintings – so much inspiration for future tutu designs!

Shopaholic paradise: Roman fashion! Oh my! My latest shopping find? A gorgeous pair of leather ankle boots (you know I can never resist a classic pair!). And of course, I've already added some Italian designer touches to my ballet wardrobe, a few shimmering silk tops, perfect for pairing with a sparkly pink tutu!

Foodie Fun: Let's be honest, food is an art form in Italy. Pasta al Carbonara with lashings of Parmigiano Reggiano? Sign me up! And those amazing, fluffy focaccia loaves. I swear, it makes a ballet girl feel invincible! I’ve been trying out all the famous Italian pastries and cannoli. Oh my! It's hard to stop at just one.

The Beauty of a Walk: Wandering through the Campo de' Fiori with its fragrant fruit stalls and the Piazza Navona with its incredible fountains, every corner you turn in Rome reveals another masterpiece. The architecture, the vibrant street life, it's just enchanting. And the perfect opportunity to practice my pirouettes under the Roman sky!

Wednesday Events Of course, no Pink Tutu Rome adventure would be complete without exploring the vibrant city's cultural offerings!

On Wednesday, 1st March 2028, there are a number of fantastic events I've got on my to-do list.

  • A magical Ballet Performance at the Teatro dell'Opera: Imagine seeing a full ballet performance under a stunning starlit sky on a Wednesday night in Rome. Yes, that’s exactly what’s on the cards, and it’s bound to be magical!

  • Exploring The History of Fashion at Palazzo Barberini: For every tutu-loving fashionista out there, a Wednesday evening at the Palazzo Barberini is not to be missed. A fascinating exhibition called “Dress Up” delves into the fascinating evolution of fashion through the ages, exploring ancient Roman garments, Medieval extravagance and of course, some truly eye-catching Renaissance costumes. It's the perfect chance to connect the dots between historical dress and modern ballet design.

  • Street performers in action: Rome's street performers are captivating. The sounds of musicians, the rhythmic clapping of flamenco dancers and the vibrant energy of street art shows – it’s a free-flowing symphony of culture and a brilliant chance to capture some great photos and videos for my Instagram!

A Pink Tutu Reminder: “The Most Magical Journeys Start With A Pink Tutu”

Rome, you’ve stolen a piece of my heart! The magic, the elegance, the incredible beauty, and of course, the shopping – it's a combination that's absolutely irresistible. But let’s not forget the real beauty lies in embracing the adventure, stepping outside of your comfort zone, and letting your spirit soar like a pink-tutu-clad ballerina in the centre of it all. And that's exactly what I'm doing, right here in Rome!

See you all next Wednesday, from the magical streets of Paris!

Until then, remember, life is a stage – dress for the performance! And don’t forget the pink tutu!

Xoxo, Emma
