Ciao bella! From the cobbled streets of Derbyshire to the ancient squares of Rome, your favourite pink-clad ballerina has arrived! Today marks a very special post – Pink Tutu Rome! It's my very first Roman adventure and, of course, I'm ready to twirl into the Eternal City.
For those of you who are new here, let me introduce myself. I'm Emma, a twenty-something ballerina, fashion enthusiast, and pink tutu evangelist (yes, I’m serious – spreading the love of the most magnificent garment known to woman!). I fund my globetrotting through ballet performances, whether it's a glittering theatre show or a lively street performance in some cobbled corner of the world.
And today, I’ve stepped right out of the station and into a whole other world. This vibrant city buzzes with history and beauty, each cobblestone whispering stories of emperors, gladiators, and a thousand years of magic. Already, I'm smitten with the cobbled lanes, the sun-drenched piazzas, and the glorious smells of freshly baked bread wafting from hidden bakeries.
This Wednesday’s journey took me through Italy on the glorious high-speed Italian train, a sleek silver serpent cutting through the countryside. It's truly the best way to travel! Each passing vista - rolling green hills dotted with vineyards, quaint medieval towns clinging to the mountainside, sun-kissed olive groves stretching out for miles – was a masterpiece.
The moment I stepped out of Termini Station and felt the Roman air, the magic of this place wrapped around me. A whirlwind of Vespa scooters zipping past, bustling vendors selling everything from artisanal pasta to hand-painted scarves, and the infectious chatter of locals - it's all so alive and enchanting.
But this post isn't just about the scenery (though, oh, the scenery!). It's about feeling the energy of this place, about diving headfirst into the Roman experience. It’s about discovering hidden alleyways with shops brimming with vintage delights, and sipping a steaming cappuccino in a café buzzing with laughter. It's about witnessing history unfolding before your very eyes - from the colossal Colosseum to the iconic Trevi Fountain, it's all just waiting to be explored.
Speaking of exploration, the heart of every city, to me, lies in its food. I’m already dreaming of indulging in all things delicious - steaming bowls of pasta al pesto, slices of mouth-watering pizza, scoops of gelato so good it makes you cry, and a glass of red wine in the perfect setting. But you’ll just have to stay tuned for all the foodie adventures.
And then there’s the fashion! Rome has a certain je ne sais quoi – effortless elegance, bold colour, and timeless charm. I can already picture myself browsing vintage boutiques for stunning dresses, finding the perfect leather satchel, and indulging in some fabulous Roman footwear – be it statement heels or trendy flatforms, I’ll be searching high and low!

Oh, the possibilities!
