Buongiorno, darlings!
It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another Pink Tutu blog post, and I’m writing this one from the most magical city in the world: Rome! I landed here on Sunday and have already crammed in more sightseeing and tutus than I thought possible. Honestly, this place is divine!
This week, I'm actually embracing the heat with a beautiful peach coloured tutu, perfect for exploring the Roman streets! It pairs perfectly with my blush pink handbag and sparkling diamanté sandals. You can’t beat the pink and blush combo, right? ?
And speaking of divine, I’ve been indulging in the local cuisine like there's no tomorrow. Think delicious pasta dishes, melt-in-your-mouth pizza, creamy gelato (I've already had three scoops!), and oh-my-god, the pastries! ? I even managed to find a charming little bakery with a window display full of rose-shaped cookies – pink, naturally. You know how much I love roses. Everything just tastes even better with a little pink flair. ?
But Rome is so much more than just food. This city pulsates with history and romance. Yesterday, I wandered through the ancient Roman Forum and felt the echoes of a long-gone empire. Seeing the Colosseum was incredibly awe-inspiring! The sheer scale and grandeur of the ancient buildings were truly humbling. I took a ton of photos, naturally. How could you resist? And did I mention that my tutu just popped against those amazing marble backdrops? It was perfection.
A Fashion Fiesta!
Now, no trip to Rome would be complete without a shopping spree. I’ve already visited the gorgeous shops around the Pantheon, which is like stepping back in time, but with the most beautiful contemporary fashion boutiques and designers dotted everywhere. I couldn't resist buying this gorgeous, oversized straw hat adorned with silk ribbons. And it has the most gorgeous feather in the perfect shade of dusky pink! Absolutely dreamy! Rome truly inspires, darlings!
Pink Tutu Ballet Inspiration
As if Rome's magic wasn’t enough, there was another magical element to my trip: Ballet! This Wednesday, April 12th, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma is hosting a dazzling performance of "Swan Lake". It’s a dream come true! And guess what? I'm planning to slip on my most delicate and elegant pink tutu for the performance – something with exquisite detailing and flowing chiffon to mimic the graceful movements of the swans. I know this will be one of the highlights of my trip!
Pink Tutu Travels - Train Travel
Another amazing thing about travelling to Rome has been taking the train! It’s a real cultural experience, with so many interesting faces and accents. I saw a lovely family from France with a little girl wearing a cute ballet dress – of course, I couldn't resist asking about her dance classes. We chatted about ballet and her favourite colours. The best part? I even found a little boy in the carriage with the coolest pink T-shirt! My heart just melted. Everyone needs a little bit of pink in their life!
Sharing the Love
And let's be honest, Rome truly is the perfect setting for a pink tutu. It’s the perfect place to embrace a sense of whimsy, fashion, and magic. I’ve seen so many beautiful and elegant outfits and am totally loving the fashion scene. Everyone seems to be a bit more stylish and a bit more fun than in other places I’ve visited.
