Pink Tutu Rome #1715: La Dolce Vita in a Tutu!

Ciao bella! It's Emma here, back from the Eternal City with another glorious dose of pink tutu adventures! This week's journey takes us to the heart of Rome, Italy – a city that is every bit as vibrant and dazzling as its ancient ruins. It's truly a city that makes you feel like a princess, even if you're wearing a pink tutu instead of a tiara! ?

Let me tell you, this week was just divine. It’s been absolutely perfect for a fashion-loving ballerina with a passion for travel – Rome is a place where fashion and history collide in the most fabulous way, making it a veritable wonderland for a pink-tutu-wearing blogger like me!

I'm telling you, walking through Rome in my tutu is an absolute dream! The cobbled streets, the incredible architecture, and the friendly locals, all seemed to welcome me with open arms and even more open smiles. I got so many compliments from passers-by on my fabulous pink outfit, proving that a tutu truly can transcend borders and languages. You'd think I was some sort of fashion icon – in my own little, pink tutu way, of course!

Speaking of fashion, let's talk shopping! You can’t come to Rome and not delve into its incredible fashion scene. Rome’s famous shopping street, Via Condotti, is like a fashion playground, packed with boutiques from the most coveted brands. I confess I found myself lost in a wonderland of Italian leather goods, gorgeous designer dresses, and irresistible shoes. But remember, even with the best of fashion finds, it's always important to embrace your unique style! For me, it’s always a pink tutu that's going to bring my personal style to life. And Rome is definitely the perfect place for any tutu-loving fashionista!

Of course, it's not just the shops that draw me to Rome; the incredible culture, food, and history of this city make it a truly magical destination. I spent an entire day at the Colosseum, marveling at the grandeur of Roman engineering and imagining the gladiatorial battles that once took place within its walls. Later, I got to immerse myself in the elegance of the Trevi Fountain, throwing a coin for good luck and making a wish (I won’t tell you what it is… but it definitely involved a whole lot of pink tutus!).

And then, there’s the food! Every meal felt like an indulgent feast. Pasta carbonara, creamy gelato, juicy pizzas, and the freshest of breads – each mouthful was a testament to the exquisite flavors of Italian cuisine. You could say it was a food coma-inducing affair… in the very best way possible! ?

A Touch of Ballet in Rome

It’s always a joy for me to find ballet and performance art when I’m traveling. This week, Rome provided me with two opportunities to be swept away by the magical world of dance:

  1. The Teatro dell'Opera di Roma : This was the absolute highlight of the week. I had the honour of seeing a ballet performance of Giselle. This timeless ballet, full of romantic tragedy and breathtaking dancing, completely captivated me. The ballerina's movement, the beautiful costumes, and the soaring music had me utterly spellbound. You could say I left feeling as though I had been whisked away to a different world, a world filled with love, loss, and grace, a world not unlike my own world of pink tutus.

  2. Ballet class at the Accademia di Danza: While Rome doesn't have the extensive dance scene that you find in London, I did discover a ballet studio in the heart of the city, and found myself amongst a group of incredibly enthusiastic and talented dancers. It was exhilarating to move with this vibrant community, feeling the shared passion for ballet that transcends language and culture. We had an absolute blast - it was definitely a dance experience to remember!

More to Explore

Rome has a special place in my heart – it's a city that is truly breathtaking in every way. From its ancient history to its incredible food, fashion, and culture, it’s a city that never ceases to amaze me. This trip definitely made me want to return – there's just so much to explore! Next time, I'd love to discover the Catacombs of Rome, explore the Galleria Borghese, or lose myself in the Roman Forum, even with a pink tutu! I feel there is no place on this earth that is too elegant, beautiful or exciting for a tutu-wearing, ballet-loving, fashionista.

Tutu Travels – Always with a Pink Perspective

Whether it’s dancing my way through the streets of Derbyshire or navigating the busy avenues of Rome, the world is a truly wonderful place, full of vibrant and interesting people and places. If you're considering travelling to Rome, I’d wholeheartedly recommend it.
