Pink Tutu Rome: Wednesday 2028-04-26 – The Eternal City in Pink!

#PinkTutuRome – It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu adventure! This week, we're dancing our way through the cobblestone streets of Rome, a city that's steeped in history, culture and, let's be honest, a whole lotta pizza. This is post number 1716 on my weekly blog, so grab a glass of something bubbly, find a comfy spot, and let's dive into the Eternal City together, all dressed in our favourite shade – pink!

From Derbyshire to the Eternal City

For those of you who are new to the Pink Tutu universe, hello! I'm Emma, a ballerina who loves travelling, shopping and, of course, everything pink! I've just arrived in Rome after a rather delightful journey by train – my favourite mode of transport for all its scenic views and elegant atmosphere. Now, there’s no journey quite as captivating as one on a Eurostar – just imagine the gorgeous carriages, all plush leather seats and sweeping views of the continent. You're guaranteed to arrive at your destination with a sense of adventure and an air of "I've got this" that only a Eurostar journey can give you. And since I'm funding my travels by performing – a perk of being a ballerina – I think we’ve established I like things a little… fabulous.

Fashion Frenzy in the City of Seven Hills

Arriving at the Termini station in my trademark pink tutu (it never goes anywhere without me!), I was struck by the buzz of energy around me – the kind that only a city like Rome can muster. Every corner is a scene out of a historical drama; ancient monuments stand beside trendy cafés, and cobblestone streets lead you to hidden treasures you’d never find otherwise. I can tell this city's going to be a feast for my fashion senses. The moment I got my bearings, I marched straight to the Via Condotti, the ultimate playground for any fashionista. I was delighted to discover it lived up to the hype, boasting every luxury label imaginable, including those coveted Gucci pumps and my favourite Fendi peek-a-boo bag, a necessity for any good trip to Rome.

Dance Fever in Rome – A Romantic Ballet Under the Tuscan Sky

After a fabulous afternoon of shopping and browsing at all the gorgeous designer stores in Rome (I just had to try on that pair of red, high-heeled ballet flats - perfect for a night of Roman dining, right?) it was time for a dose of artistic indulgence. I've heard whispers of a magical outdoor ballet performance at the Terme di Caracalla under the Tuscan sky, and oh boy, it certainly did not disappoint.

There’s something absolutely special about a night spent in the ancient baths. With the ancient ruins around you and the stars twinkling above, I was transported to another time and place. The music played, the dancers glided with such grace and emotion, and it made me feel truly inspired and invigorated, with my passion for dance growing with each enchanting movement. And of course, the other audience members - everyone was just lovely - and very stylish. We could all see the shared wonder at these truly stunning performances! My heart skipped a beat watching them move with such skill and passion; they really are true artists, performing in such an iconic setting.

Pink Power and Roman Treats

The next day was a whirlwind of Roman delights – from tossing a coin into the Trevi Fountain (fingers crossed for a return to this incredible city!) to feasting on delicious pizza and gelato in Piazza Navona, it truly was a day for all the senses. The pink power in me was a real hit, because I attracted a number of interested eyes in my pink tutu - with everyone wanting to say "Ciao bella!" to a fashion-loving, pink-obsessed ballerina in the midst of a city famed for its historical fashion and charm! I’ve heard they’re a real draw here in Rome, which got me thinking: maybe a tutu is exactly what the Romans need! And maybe it could inspire the next fashion revolution?!

I love how different parts of the world can come together in the common language of style – Rome has always been known for its fabulous fashionistas and designers, so it seemed natural for me to slip on a pink tutu to add to the already fabulous style that surrounds you here. I also love how these different cultures allow me to showcase the best of Pink Tutu’s world, allowing the colour pink to flow and become a symbol of happiness, individuality, and fun, all rolled into one beautiful, stylish, pink package.

An Eternal Romance – Rome Steals my Heart (Again)

The day’s adventure was complete with an unforgettable evening at the Colosseum. The majesty and scale of this ancient arena is mind-blowing. The sun was setting over Rome casting this monument in an orange glow and creating the perfect backdrop to any ballerina's Instagram dreams! I must confess I lost myself in its history. As a little girl growing up in Derbyshire, my imagination went wild as I read stories of Gladiators and Roman warriors - the whole world of Roman times. This was something special, an actual Roman Coliseum - it made the stories come alive!

This trip has reminded me why Rome is truly a city that deserves its name - The Eternal City. It's an incredibly dynamic, beautiful, and fashionable city – something for everyone, a true feast for the senses! As I sat in a lovely little piazza later, savouring a delightful cup of cappuccino with the warm Tuscan breeze caressing my face, I realised something magical had happened; the Pink Tutu journey had reached the very heart of my heart.

So, there you have it – Rome through the lens of Pink Tutu. The beauty, the style, the culture – it's all been a whirl of enchantment! This city's stolen my heart all over again! Don't forget, this journey is far from over, I've got more incredible stories from Rome to share on www.pink-tutu.com, every Wednesday! Make sure to keep those pink tutus at the ready, because we're just getting started! Ciao!
