Ciao, darlings!
It’s Emma here, your favourite tutu-clad travel companion, and today’s stop is the breathtaking, ancient city of Rome! Buckle up for a whirlwind of pink, passion, and Italian flair as we delve into all things Roman. As a little reminder, every Wednesday you can find my adventures here on www.pink-tutu.com, always with a sprinkle of pink and a dash of dancing!
I have been living in Rome for the past week, soaking in the Italian sun and sipping cappuccinos while I watch the world go by, in my trusty pink tutu of course. Yes, you read that right – pink tutus are très chic in Rome! It has been so lovely to embrace the Roman lifestyle and I must say, even the Italian men find a little pink tutu divine. They look like they want to buy me an ice cream every time they see me – and, who could resist that?
This week, however, it’s time to leave the piazza and embark on a journey to see what Rome has to offer, with a splash of my signature pink tutu. So let's jump into the magic, shall we?
A Romanticized Romance with Roman Architecture
Wednesday, the day I’m writing this, the air in Rome is abuzz. It is a truly beautiful spring day and the sun is shining bright on the cobblestone streets, with the light making the white buildings sparkle. Rome is a living history book, each corner, each building, a masterpiece telling a thousand tales. And what's better than exploring ancient ruins, Roman basilicas, and majestic squares, dressed in a beautiful, flowy, pink tutu, right?
Today I spent the morning visiting the Colosseum. Standing there, gazing at this iconic monument of the past, it’s hard to believe the gladiators battled and the crowds cheered right here centuries ago. The grandeur and scale of the place is just mind-blowing, especially in a flowing pink tutu, I feel like I am dancing back in time! My favourite part? Strolling around the Coliseum with its imposing stature standing strong. Imagine all the history woven within its stone. It really feels like stepping back in time, and who better to do it with than a pink-loving ballerina like me!
From the mighty Colosseum to the iconic Trevi Fountain, Rome is full of incredible places. I spent the afternoon near the Trevi fountain, the perfect backdrop for my Instagram photoshoot, of course, where I tossed in my little penny for good luck - hopefully for more travels and more dancing. The beauty of the Trevi fountain with its sculpted seashells, mythical figures, and cascading water really does take your breath away.
Pink in Rome: A Fashion Fusion
There’s no denying that my pink tutu is quite a statement piece, but let’s be real - Rome is the city for style, and it’s made for bold statements! From haute couture designers to street fashion enthusiasts, the Roman sense of fashion is truly captivating. The city oozes glamour and sophistication, and the Italians are effortlessly chic - think statement jewellery, bright colours, and sharp silhouettes, often juxtaposed with comfortable basics. They always get it right.
From Ballet Bars to Roman Piazza: Staying Fit and Inspired
Of course, my journey through Italy wouldn't be complete without indulging in my ballet passions! Finding a local studio, I danced for two hours this morning. I swear the instructors here have magical, sparkly wands, that have given my steps an extra sparkle. I've even found a hidden gem for my post-dance coffee, a cute little cafe that smells divine with freshly ground coffee and sweet pastries, so tutti frutti. I think it's important to keep your creative muscles moving and I do love to dance. It keeps me feeling fit, positive and full of energy.
From the Tiber's Edge to Your Heart: The Essence of Rome
After all the walking, shopping, and dancing, my heart truly feels like it's found a little home in this city. Even the sunset over the Tiber River holds a kind of poetic romance, and you know what makes it even better? Taking a dip in the waters at the Trevi Fountain! (No, not literally - just a fun visual). And let's be honest, even with all the historical and cultural wonders, it's the genuine warmth and kindness of the Roman people that makes this place feel like home. I have to say, people have been so kind and accommodating, helping me find the perfect tutu stores - it is hard to resist picking one up for my ever-growing tutu collection.
Post Script: Pink Tutu Enthusiasts Rejoice!
And there you have it, dear friends! Rome is full of vibrant energy and exciting opportunities, the kind of places that ignite inspiration and leave you feeling deeply connected to its ancient soul. Don’t be surprised if I move in here - It's all been such a lovely escape from Derbyshire, even the food is perfect for this ballerina - delicious pizza, rich pasta, creamy gelato. What more could you ask for? The sunshine, the food, the fashion, and the chance to do ballet at every turn makes it an experience for my heart.
So, go forth and explore this captivating city. Be daring, be brave, and wear that pink tutu! Remember, when you're dressed in pink, the world becomes your stage. I look forward to sharing more adventures with you next week on www.pink-tutu.com, and who knows, I might even convince the whole world to dance in a pink tutu one day! Until next week, ciao ciao.
