Pink Tutu Rome - #1722: Ciao Bella!

Wednesday 2028-06-07

Hello my gorgeous darlings! It's Emma here, ready to whisk you away to the vibrant streets of Rome! This week I'm dipping my toes - and my fabulous pink tutu - into the heart of the Eternal City!

This week's journey started on a classic red Italian train - always a glamorous affair! I packed my pink luggage - yes, it's shocking pink! - with my favourite pink tutu, naturally, along with some new glittery shoes and a bevy of bold floral print dresses for sightseeing in style.

Landing in Rome, I was instantly charmed by the aroma of espresso, the warm sunlight on my skin, and the joyful cacophony of chatter around me. I can't get enough of the Italian lifestyle. This whole trip is going to be "La dolce vita" personified!

Day One: Fountains, Fashion, and Pizza

First stop? Trevi Fountain! You HAVE to toss a coin in it, right? Tradition is everything! My toss, accompanied by a twirl in my pink tutu, of course, was so perfectly executed that I'm certain I’ve secured myself a lifetime of Italian adventures.

Afterwards, I spent some time wandering through the charming side streets. A delightful discovery! I found a shop overflowing with handmade jewelry and stylish sunglasses - just my style. You wouldn't believe the gorgeous floral headbands and feather earrings I snapped up!

Next up? Pizza! Oh my gosh, let's be real, no trip to Rome is complete without a delectable pizza experience. I treated myself to a wood-fired masterpiece with mozzarella and mushrooms, followed by a divine scoop of gelato - a pink one, obviously!

Day Two: Ballet Ballet, and even more Ballet

I can't visit a new city without exploring the local ballet scene. I booked myself into a fantastic drop-in ballet class this morning at Rome’s very own Ballet Arts Studio. It was exhilarating! The instructors are excellent, and I met some delightful dancers who shared their favourite pizza spots with me. Let's just say, there will be more pizza on my trip.

In the afternoon, I visited the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, one of the oldest opera houses in Europe! They're showcasing a stunning production of “La Traviata,” and I snagged the best seats in the house (in my tutu, of course!). The acoustics were amazing, and the performance had me in tears at one point, it was SO emotional.

Day Three: Exploring the Pantheon and the Colosseum

Rome’s historical sights are breathtaking. Standing inside the Pantheon, looking up at that awe-inspiring dome, is simply indescribable. It truly is a work of art! And who would have thought, a giant hole in the roof gives you a glimpse of the Roman sky - genius!

Later, I explored the Colosseum - its scale and grandeur left me speechless! To think it's standing there today after all these years? It's just incredible. For once, even I was left for words!

I'll be back next Wednesday with more of my pink-tutu-ed adventures. In the meantime, be sure to catch my daily snaps and snippets on Instagram (@PinkTutuEmma)
