Pink Tutu Rome: Week 1728 - La Dolce Vita, Pink Edition! ???

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a new Pink Tutu adventure! This week, I've been shimmying through the cobblestone streets of Rome, and oh my goodness, this city is simply divine. Every corner I turn is a photo opportunity, and every palazzo a work of art. This week’s blog is jam-packed with fashion, fun, and, of course, plenty of pink!

The Train Journey: A Whimsical Waltz

Now, you all know I adore train travel, and the journey from Derbyshire to Rome was a total dream. I whipped up my signature ballet-inspired ensemble - a dreamy blush pink tutu with a sleek black top, my trusty cherry-red patent leather ballet pumps, and a sprinkle of shimmer for good measure. Of course, I brought a book – “The Italian Job” naturally – and my favourite headphones for a soundtrack of Vivaldi to get me in the mood for all things Roman. The rhythmic rumble of the train made me feel like I was dancing along the tracks, a graceful ballerina on a mission.

Pink Paradise in Rome: A Shopping Spree

Upon arriving in the Eternal City, my first stop had to be the shops! Rome is a fashionista's paradise, and I was ready to indulge in all the fabulousness. I popped into Dolce & Gabbana on Via Condotti, a true haven for designer dreams. My eyes went wide at the lavish displays of chic, sophisticated gowns – and let me tell you, they all screamed “pink” to me. I nabbed myself the most stunning blush silk scarf to add a touch of Roman romance to my wardrobe. You all know how much I love my scarves – they’re my pink-tutu-wearing ballet girl's superpower!

Roman Ruins: Ballet Beneath the Stars

Rome is a city that effortlessly blends history and modernity. I simply had to take in the grandeur of the Roman Forum and Colosseum, a stark reminder of the power and beauty of times gone by. The historical significance of these ruins made me think about how ballet itself has evolved and thrived across the centuries. Both ballet and these ancient sites are about capturing moments in time, emotions, and stories, using grace and passion as their medium. It made me want to twirl under the Roman stars, right there in the heart of the Colosseum!

Delicious Delights: Pink Cocktails and Pizza Perfection

Rome is all about indulging your senses, and trust me, I didn’t hold back! The gelato is truly a revelation – scoops of creamy, pink-hued strawberry sorbet in the sunshine were pure perfection. Speaking of sunshine, a rooftop Aperol Spritz in a charming piazza with my travelling companions – you’ll love them, they’re also in love with pink – was the ultimate Roman experience. The orange hue of the cocktail was divine against the backdrop of Rome’s sunset, the light dancing over the terracotta roofs, truly magical! And no trip to Rome would be complete without authentic pizza. My Margherita, topped with fresh basil and gooey mozzarella, was an explosion of deliciousness in my mouth, a culinary masterpiece to savour!

Ballet Extravaganza: La Scala Meets the Colosseum

Every ballerina dreams of performing on the hallowed stage of La Scala, but in Rome, I had an even more surreal experience. On the 19th of July, Rome’s Teatro dell’Opera di Roma had a spectacular performance of Romeo & Juliet, and it was truly breathtaking! The dance and passion were palpable – I swear, the actors could feel the echoes of the ancient Colosseum within their movements! The costumes, the sets, and the orchestra all played their part in creating a truly unforgettable evening. Ballet is a universal language, and the emotion conveyed through each move and leap resonated deeply with my soul. It was an honour to witness this timeless story brought to life with such artistry and passion.

A Pink-Tutu Promise: Spread the Joy!

So there you have it, my darlings, another unforgettable Pink Tutu adventure. This week in Rome, I was immersed in the beauty, history, and joy of this amazing city, but the highlight was definitely the ballet performance – a truly inspirational night! Now, I know some of you might think that wearing a pink tutu in Rome is a bit outlandish, but I encourage you to embrace your inner ballerina and wear whatever makes you feel fabulous! Who knows, maybe you’ll inspire others to twirl in their own signature style. Just remember: the world is your stage, and pink tutus are always welcome.

And remember, every Wednesday, join me on www.pink-tutu.com for my latest adventures. Until then, keep those pink tutus twirling and your spirits high!

Lots of love,

Emma xx
