Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means – it's time for another Pink Tutu blog post! This week I'm whisking you all away to the dazzling city of Rome.
Oh, Rome! How I've longed to explore your ancient cobblestone streets and breathtaking monuments! As always, I'm travelling in style, of course, in my favourite pink tutu and a dazzling array of colourful accessories, ready to spread some joy and a whole lotta pink wherever I go.
A Railway Romance
My journey to the Eternal City began with a charming train ride from my quaint Derbyshire village. As the countryside whizzed by, I felt a surge of excitement bubbling inside me. My ballet bag was stuffed full of shimmering leotards, sparkly tutus, and my trusty pointe shoes, ready for a performance at the stunning Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. You know, keeping this little Pink Tutu empire ticking over requires some hard work and a good dose of dancing, even when I'm travelling!

Stepping out of the Termini station into the bustling energy of Rome, it was like stepping back in time. The scent of freshly baked bread, the melodic chatter of locals, and the grand architecture surrounding me were pure magic. I was completely captivated! I headed straight for my hotel, a charming little boutique place tucked away in a peaceful courtyard. My room, a sweet pastel pink with a balcony overlooking a lively cobbled street, felt like a dream come true.
Pink Power in the Eternal City
The first stop on my Roman adventure was, of course, a visit to the Colosseum. Walking through its towering arches, imagining gladiators battling in the arena, sent shivers down my spine. And what better place to twirl in a pink tutu than amongst the remnants of Ancient Rome? Let me tell you, darling, the Colosseum was the perfect stage for a photo shoot! My tutu practically radiated against the majestic backdrop of this incredible piece of history.
After a lunch of mouthwatering pasta and a scoop of gelato in Piazza Navona (oh, those flavours!), I set off on a mission to explore the Spanish Steps. This is a must-see for any fashionista, and believe me, I found inspiration around every corner.
Fashion Fiesta in Rome
The shopping scene in Rome is absolutely heavenly! My heart went into overdrive when I discovered the cobbled streets filled with designer boutiques, quirky independent stores, and buzzing markets bursting with colourful wares. I scooped up a stunning silk scarf for my dance performances – a vibrant crimson hue that complemented my pink tutu perfectly.
Then there was a beautiful shop selling hand-painted ceramics in a rainbow of hues. I couldn’t resist adding a stunning porcelain ballet dancer to my collection, and a sweet little pink pig with a tiny tutu!
Dancing Under the Italian Stars
Rome was literally buzzing with art and culture! On Wednesday 13th December, a fabulous exhibition was running at the Museo del Teatro dell'Opera. I’d love to have seen this, it looked captivating! Instead, I took in a mesmerising performance at the Opera House.
I adore ballets set in Rome! “Romeo and Juliet” played here, and that was magic. A touch of Shakespeare, combined with stunning scenery and captivating dancing. What's not to love?
Rome Through Pink Tinted Glasses
Walking the streets of Rome, I felt a true sense of wonder and enchantment. The city, like a captivating dance, seamlessly blends historical grandeur with modern energy. From the majestic Pantheon to the iconic Trevi Fountain, each corner holds a story waiting to be discovered.
Pink Tutu Moments
I've found myself doing something I never thought I would. I started a pink tutu movement in Rome! That’s right darlings, people stopped to say hello, and asked for a picture, some even wanting to learn the art of the pink tutu twirl. It seems like pink tutus are catching on, even in the most ancient of cities! And of course, I’ve been spreading pink cheer through my street performances, enchanting locals with the elegance and joy of ballet.
Final Thoughts: Ciao, Roma
As my Roman escapade comes to an end, my heart overflows with gratitude and memories that will forever dance in my mind. This city has captured my soul and left an indelible mark on my heart. Until next time, bella Roma, you’ll always hold a special place in my pink tutu-wearing soul!
