Buongiorno, my darlings! ? It's your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina, Emma, and I'm absolutely thrilled to be reporting to you live from the Eternal City, Rome!
The train journey from Derbyshire was as always, an absolute delight. Nothing beats the rhythmic sway of the train carriage, especially when I've got a killer playlist of all my favourite classical tunes. It's the perfect opportunity to get those ballet muscles warmed up. ? Speaking of ballet, have I told you about the extraordinary performance I saw at the Royal Opera House last week? Oh, my darling! I swear, I could have danced right along with them!
Now, Rome! Ah, this city is just brimming with beauty and history! I've spent the past few days getting my fill of ancient wonders like the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Did you know the Romans had an elaborate network of aqueducts and sewers? Fascinating! I spent ages reading about it at the Trajan's Column, soaking in all the knowledge. Of course, I couldn't visit Rome without having a peek at the Trevi Fountain. It’s just spectacular! I felt a bit like I'd stepped into a film set – very cinematic!
Speaking of spectacular, I must tell you about the delicious Italian cuisine I've been indulging in. From mouthwatering pasta carbonara to creamy gelato, everything here is a dream! Let's just say I've got a new appreciation for pizza. ?
But of course, the true focus of any Emma adventure has to be fashion, darling! Rome is simply overflowing with incredible boutiques, bursting with colourful clothes, shoes, and accessories! I snagged the most adorable blush-coloured linen dress with intricate lace detailing. Perfect for twirling through the Roman streets, I must say! And guess what else? I've finally found a fabulous artisan crafting the most gorgeous hand-painted pink ballet slippers! Can you even imagine the Instagram photos?!
As for the perfect romantic setting? This Valentine's Day, the beautiful Piazza Navona was simply overflowing with hearts and blooms! It's impossible to feel anything but happy when surrounded by so much colour and warmth. A little gelato with a gorgeous view from the Spanish Steps rounded off my evening, leaving me in the pink!
This week, darling, I’m focusing on discovering the magic of Trastevere, the charming little neighborhood famous for its winding alleys and artisan shops. Rumour has it there's a hidden, gorgeous antique market overflowing with gorgeous ballet treasures. I’ll be keeping you updated on my finds.
Rome is a feast for all the senses, darling. It's a vibrant mix of art, culture, history, and yes, even fashion! I feel like my little pink tutu could spend forever here, getting lost in the beauty and magic of this incredible city.
Before I go, my darlings, remember – let your inner ballerina shine. And dare to wear that pink tutu! ?
Until next Wednesday, keep those toes tappin', and keep it pink! ?
Emma
P.S. Don’t forget to check out the new pink tutu tutorial I posted on YouTube! I show you how to create your own super easy ballerina outfit using nothing but a pink tutu, a pretty scarf, and some glitter glue. ?
