A-tut-terly Pink Adventure in the Eternal City!
Buongiorno, my darlings! This week, we're waltzing our way through the heart of Italy, and I'm feeling absolutely fabulosa in my new pink tutu (which, by the way, is totally perfect for twirling under the Colosseum!)! This is my dream trip to Rome, and I just had to share it all with you. Let’s go!
(cue dramatic music)
Rome, Meet Pink Tutu
You know me, I live for the journey, and what better way to experience a city than on a train? The carriage journey from Florence to Rome was utterly magical. Picture it: sprawling Italian countryside whizzing past, sunlight painting the hillsides golden, and yours truly rocking a fabulously bright pink tutu against the backdrop of Tuscany! (It’s always the best look!) Of course, I had my little travel ballerina bag (filled with all the pink-tinted essentials!) tucked at my feet. Honestly, how could you resist looking stylish even on a train? It's all about making your own fun, darling!
(dramatic pause)
My Roman Adventures: Fashion, Fun & Ballet!
Stepping off the train, I was greeted by the vibrant energy of Rome - cobblestone streets bursting with the aroma of freshly baked bread, laughter ringing out from a piazza nearby, and an orchestra of tuk-tuks vying for our attention. A symphony for the senses! Naturally, I had to don a matching pink beret and some floral-patterned sunglasses to really embrace the chic, vintage vibes of this magnificent city. This is my style!
Ballet in the Eternal City: From Piazza Navona to the Opera
There’s something about this city that just makes me want to dance! I know what you're thinking - “Emma, you’re always twirling!” And, you’re right! I can’t resist the temptation to leap and pirouette whenever I feel inspired. Luckily, Rome is teeming with opportunities for dance enthusiasts! We popped into a charming ballet studio right in the heart of Piazza Navona. (Honestly, a ballerina’s dream! They were playing the most gorgeous classical music). They gave me a crash course in the basics and we laughed our way through a short routine - a lovely way to experience ballet with a new, energetic approach.

Rome is a haven for opera lovers too! I was utterly captivated by the sheer grandeur of Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. The sheer scale of it was truly breathtaking! We watched an absolutely magnificent production of Puccini’s La Bohème. Every note, every gesture, and every costume…pure perfection. The emotions were so real, and you could feel the power of music swirling around us.
(end dramatic opera tune, fade out)
Exploring the Wonders of Ancient Rome:
Who hasn't dreamed of strolling through the ancient streets of Rome, tracing history back thousands of years? (This pink-tutu wearing ballerina, certainly!) It’s like walking through a museum that breathes, where the past is brought to life. Of course, no trip to Rome is complete without a visit to the Colosseum - one of the wonders of the world, an emblem of this majestic city! Seeing this impressive structure towering over the city streets felt almost surreal. This building truly evokes such strong imagery and I could only picture all the grand performances and gladiatorial battles that unfolded beneath its arches.
The Trevi Fountain, oh, what a beautiful sight! The rush of cascading water against the baroque setting felt truly magical. It’s said that if you toss a coin into the fountain, you'll return to Rome someday - you can bet I’ll be back, my dear!

The Little Touches: Delicious Treats & Charming Markets
A trip to Italy wouldn’t be complete without indulgence! I treated myself to delicious creamy gelato (lots of strawberry, of course!) from a little streetside stall. As we strolled through the city, we stumbled upon the most delightful market. It was an absolute delight of colour, with fresh fruits bursting with flavor and locally produced wines in every colour of the rainbow. (I managed to snag some delicious limoncello - the perfect pick-me-up after a long day of exploring! ). It's amazing what treasures you can find when you allow yourself to wander through hidden streets and charming little corners.
Finding the Perfect Pink Outfit in Rome!
No trip is complete without a touch of shopping therapy! Luckily for me, Rome is brimming with independent boutiques and vintage shops, tucked away in tiny alleys, oozing with style and character. Of course, I couldn't leave without snagging some new pink additions to my collection. It would be rude! From delicate flower crowns and dazzling pink scarves to shimmering pink tops and whimsical earrings (think fairies and butterflies, my dears), this is truly a shopper’s paradise.

Ending Our Adventure in the Most Romantic Way
On our last evening, we chose to spend it along the banks of the River Tiber. We watched the sunset bathe the city in a warm golden light, painting a perfect canvas of soft pinks and oranges across the sky. I’m not sure it gets much more romantic! We felt so happy and full of adventure, like we were stepping straight out of a fairytale!
