Pink Tutu Rome - #1804 - A Fairytale of Pink in the Eternal City!

Ciao bellas! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another fabulous post on www.pink-tutu.com, straight from the heart of Rome! The train journey here from Derbyshire was pure magic - gazing out at the countryside through the window, sipping a steaming latte and planning out the ultimate pink tutu-tastic Roman adventures. I'm wearing my new shimmering "Tutus & Tiaras" tulle creation, of course, with a gorgeous rose pink beret to keep the Roman sunshine off my face.

And oh, the sunshine! The sun is shining bright over Rome, adding an extra layer of fairytale enchantment to the already beautiful city. Just like the scene in a ballet when the lights dim and a golden glow washes over the stage, Rome has that effect on me, with its stunning architecture, charming cobbled streets, and ancient ruins bathed in a warm, inviting light.

The Colosseum: Where Emperors Met Ballerinas

This week, I headed to the Colosseum. This iconic monument has always been on my bucket list, and seeing it in person surpassed all my expectations! It’s massive, awe-inspiring, and steeped in history. Just imagine all the dramatic stories of gladiatorial combats and Roman triumphs played out within those ancient walls! And while I wouldn’t want to fight in the arena (though, wouldn't it be fantastic to imagine a graceful ballet performed amongst the gladiators?), I did indulge in a little Ballet-style performance for myself. I twirled in front of the Colosseum, my tutu fluttering like a proud butterfly in the breeze, imagining the cheers of the Roman crowds. A bit more pink and twirling definitely needed here. I reckon even the tough old Romans would have loved my moves.

Fashion, Foodie & Festa - The Pinkest Shopping Spree

A girl’s gotta eat, and Rome certainly doesn’t disappoint when it comes to delicious treats. After my ballet adventure, I treated myself to some seriously scrumptious pasta - a carbonara so rich and creamy, I nearly licked the plate clean! Followed, of course, with an ice cream - I went for a delightful pink pistachio, the colour just perfectly matching my beret and tutu! The gelato in Rome is truly the stuff of dreams, so creamy and bursting with flavour!

My afternoon involved an afternoon of serious shopping. Now, Rome is already a fashion paradise, but my mission, my dear pink-tutu lovers, was to find the pinkest, twirliest, most enchanting ensemble. I started my shopping quest in Via Condotti, home to the world’s most luxurious brands, and my heart beat a little faster when I saw all the pretty pink purses, shoes, and dresses in the windows! However, I know a good bargain when I see one and Rome has a beautiful selection of vintage stores hidden away on the side streets and in bustling market squares. It's all about finding those unique gems. My heart skipped a beat when I found a vintage, pearl-beaded, baby pink bolero, which matched my tutu perfectly, and of course, the best part was, it was half price! My mission complete, it's fair to say, this Roman shopper came away with some absolutely stunning finds, and all for a fraction of the price I would have paid at home.

La dolce vita - It’s a Performance Every Day

In the evenings, Rome transforms into a magical wonderland. I wandered down the romantic, cobblestone streets, passing charming piazzas with little cafés lit with twinkling fairy lights, buskers playing hauntingly beautiful melodies, and couples lost in passionate conversations. Evenings here are like being part of a ballet, the city's energy just seems to rise and swell, as people fill the streets with laughter and conversation. Tonight, I am going to treat myself to an amazing ballet performance at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. It’s an iconic opera house in the heart of the city, known for its grandeur and beautiful performances. A tutu is an absolute must when watching ballet at a place like this! The Italians really appreciate beauty and style and love a splash of colour – especially a glorious pink. I will report back with all the details in next week's blog!

Until Next Time

As always, my beautiful pink tutu-loving followers, you have no idea how much I appreciate you. Every week, it fills my heart with joy and excitement to share my adventures with you!

From my new little pink Roman retreat, I am off to have a pink dream, maybe even to twirl in my sleep under the Roman sky. I can't wait for all the adventures that await in the city! Until next week, keep spreading the pink tutu love! And remember - every day is an opportunity to put on a tutu, twirl and dance to your own beat. It’s a pink life for me and I hope it is a pink life for you too!

Lots of love,

Emma
