Birmingham Calling! (Post #2)

Oh my goodness, darling readers, you will never guess where I've been! Birmingham, of course! A glorious trip by train, filled with the sound of my own chirpy chat and the clatter of my favourite, pink suitcase (don't judge, it's so chic!). I even had a window seat for the entire journey, allowing me to gawk at the rolling English countryside – something which always makes my heart flutter. I even saw a delightful fox! Such a cute creature – so bushy-tailed and sly. They must know all the best secrets about life, those foxes!

Now, back to my lovely Birmingham adventure. It’s just bursting with history and culture – the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery was just splendid! You could spend days wandering through all its nooks and crannies. It was full of delightful displays and historical treasures. I must say, my pink tutu caused a bit of a stir as I flitted about, but it’s my trademark style after all. Why be ordinary when you can be...well, spectacular in pink?

Of course, the real reason for my trip was ballet! It's always an exciting treat to venture into the heart of the theatre world. I was attending the Royal Ballet’s ‘The Sleeping Beauty’. You can't tell from my name, but I'm a huge fan. This ballet just transports me – all the fairytale romance and magical sets make me feel like I’ve slipped right into the pages of a storybook. You could say, I was dreaming of tutus and grand pirouettes as I twirled around the halls!

It goes without saying I’d prepared an utterly magnificent outfit. I’d carefully selected a crisp white dress that flowed gracefully like a ballerina's movements – and, naturally, I had to pair it with my beautiful pink tutu! It made me feel like a graceful, fairytale princess who could leap right onto the stage. It’s all about expressing your inner ballerina, isn't it? And what's a princess without a bit of pink? It adds just the right amount of sparkle to the occasion, wouldn’t you say?

Speaking of the stage, the Royal Ballet were utterly spectacular. Their grace, precision, and utter joy for dancing had me glued to my seat. It really brought out the little girl inside of me – the one who loves a touch of whimsy and beauty. I always leave these performances feeling uplifted and inspired – it's almost as if a little bit of the magic rubs off on you.

I don't just enjoy watching ballet, you know. My journey also included a delightful class at the Birmingham Dance Academy – you see, the joy of dancing shouldn't be reserved just for performances. It’s something to be experienced and celebrated everyday! That’s why I say, everyone should give ballet a go. The effortless beauty of every graceful move – you’d be surprised at what you can do with just a little bit of practice! They gave me the kindest, warmest welcome – a complete dream! I even managed to get a little pink tutu thrown in the mix. (Shhh, don't tell anyone, but it wasn't my own - I may have snuck it in there. He he.)

While I adore a good ballet class, I must admit, travelling by horse does provide an equally wonderful feeling. I’m so lucky to have grown up near Derbyshire, which gives me the perfect excuse to gallop across the meadows – a blissful escape from the everyday. But alas, even I couldn’t manage a ride on a galloping steed through the streets of Birmingham.

Anyway, darling readers, it’s time to wrap up this tale of my Birmingham adventures. I hope I’ve inspired you to take a trip there soon, and, of course, to slip into a fabulous pink tutu and let your inner ballerina out! Remember, life’s an adventure – make the most of it. And always, always, keep twirling!

Yours in pink,

Emma xx
