Uxbridge Calling: A Pink Tutu Odyssey! 💖🩰

Hello lovelies! Emma here, and it's time for another fabulously pink post, numero 92 for all you lovely followers!

It's hard to believe October has rolled around, the leaves are turning brown and it's getting distinctly colder. But as a true Derbyshire girl at heart, there's no better feeling than layering up with cosy cardies and popping on my trusty pink Barbour jacket.

However, for a recent trip, I swapped my wellies for my trusty ballet shoes. I'm not talking a class here (although, I did sneak in a cheeky session at the Royal Ballet School – their barres are the envy of any studio!), I was on a ballet pilgrimage of sorts – a proper weekend in Uxbridge to catch the latest production at the stunning Churchill Theatre!

You see, lovelies, this little adventure wasn't just about the dance. It was about the entire journey. I set off on a proper grand adventure, a trip on the glorious Elizabeth line. Who needs those stuffy underground carriages anyway, when you can enjoy spacious carriages, comfy seating and the stunning view of the skyline? I felt like a right fairytale princess in my pink tutu, and the carriage was practically a ballet stage itself!

My weekend started with a real treat. You know I love to combine a little elegance with a bit of countryside charm. So, before even reaching the bustling heart of Uxbridge, I opted for a traditional Hackney Carriage ride through the local park. A dash of vintage glam for a truly memorable entrance. Honestly, you wouldn't believe how many passerby's did a double take and complimented my vibrant pink tutu! Maybe I am single-handedly getting the world to embrace the pink-tutu revolution? 💖

Uxbridge itself is truly a little gem. Full of history, charm, and nestled right on the outskirts of the beautiful Chiltern Hills. It's the perfect escape for a day trip or a quick getaway. It’s the type of place that makes you want to wander down winding, cobblestone streets, peek into charming shops, and lose yourself in the simple pleasures of life.

I was simply buzzing to finally get to the Churchill Theatre. It's a little beauty of a theatre – all grand arches, gorgeous staircases, and enough plush velvet seating to rival a grand ballroom. Of course, I snagged the best seats in the house – centre aisle, directly facing the stage, no less. Honestly, I felt like a real ballet queen.

The production I went to was the epitome of grace, elegance, and beauty. You know, I'm a bit of a sucker for those old classics - but the contemporary choreography was so creative, a perfect mix of intricate moves, athleticism, and truly breathtaking story-telling. I was so completely lost in the world on stage, you could have dropped a pin near me, and I wouldn’t have even noticed. It was absolute magic! And to top it off, the performers looked simply radiant in their pastel costumes.

But of course, this being me, my weekend wouldn't be complete without a bit of pampering. There's this delightful tearoom in the centre of town, you know, the type where you expect dainty finger sandwiches and perfectly brewed tea, that you just can't leave without trying! My pick was a delicious Victoria sponge (of course) paired with a spot of Earl Grey - the perfect antidote after an intense afternoon at the ballet!

As for the return journey, I treated myself to a horse-drawn carriage! You bet, you know how much I adore these stately animals – they're pure elegance, they’re just so magnificent! It added a touch of romanticism to the already-magical trip. I must confess, my inner ballerina was so busy dreaming about all those fabulous ballet stories, it was practically bouncing with glee!

But let’s talk tutus for a second, my lovelies! The real highlight of this trip? You’re all going to die when I tell you I saw a pair of ballet shoes in a stunning blush pink shade at a little shop on the main street. And, guess what? They had the cutest matching tutu, a pale peachy-pink, you just wouldn’t believe how amazing it looked. I actually may have tried it on for size! 🤫 (Okay, you’ve got me. I did! And you know what? I just might treat myself! But hey, no spoilers!)

So, to sum up this glorious ballet-filled adventure? Uxbridge, I absolutely adore you. It was pure ballet bliss – the gorgeous theatre, the dreamy production, and the enchanting countryside surroundings. I truly recommend you visit. Just don't forget your pink tutu! It really adds a bit of extra magic to the entire experience!

Oh, and, if you haven't tried on a pink tutu yet, go do it, darling. It’s like putting on your best, most fabulous costume! It’s all about expressing yourself and having fun, so don't be shy, put on your most joyful smile, and get twirling!

And remember, darlings, there's a little bit of ballerina in each and every one of us. So let your inner tutu shine! 🩰

See you next time,

Emma xx
