Mitcham Magic: Tutu Tales #104

Hello my gorgeous lovelies!

It's Emma here, and today I'm buzzing! This little ballerina has just hopped off the train (first class, naturally – this Tutu Princess knows how to travel in style) and is ready to spill the tea on a fabulously pink and twirly day in Mitcham!

For the uninitiated, Mitcham is a quaint little town just outside of London – a total contrast to my Derbyshire roots. Imagine rolling hills, picturesque cottages, and… gasp… no wildlife to be seen, at least, none as far as I could spot! You know how much I love spotting birds in the wild (peacocks, my favourite!), but in Mitcham, I felt a bit like I was in a countryside wonderland with none of the natural drama.

The purpose of my visit? Why, a most momentous occasion, of course! It all started with an email (written on shimmering pink stationery, of course) from my ballet buddy, Charlotte, who is also the owner of the most darling little boutique in London. She invited me down to Mitcham to see the unveiling of her new collection, and my ears practically popped when I heard it was entirely pink tutus! Oh my god! It felt like my dreams were coming true – all that sparkle, all that fluff, and the colour pink galore!

We’ve both always shared this crazy dream of a world where everyone is dancing in pink tutus. Every office party? Tutus. School assembly? Tutus! Dinner date? Definitely tutus! Honestly, a world of pink tutus is a world full of laughter, confidence, and twirls – what more could a girl want? So, to witness her collection in all its glory felt a little bit like achieving a shared ambition!

Charlotte’s boutique is charmingly named ‘Pink Petal.’ Don’t you just love that name?! And my dears, let me tell you, this place is pure ballet heaven. Imagine the sweetest smell of roses, fluffy white walls decorated with ballerina illustrations, and the most gorgeous collection of tutus you’ve ever seen. We are talking every colour, every length, and every kind of tutu! And trust me, the moment I stepped in, I knew I needed every single one!

Charlotte is an absolute inspiration, you know? I've been following her journey from her humble beginnings, and to see how far she’s come with Pink Petal is simply incredible. From designing her own tutus to having her own shop in the heart of London, she's an absolute whirlwind of pink, sparkle, and dance!

So, naturally, when she mentioned she was working on a new line exclusively for me, I nearly fainted with delight! You see, for a few years now, I’ve been dreaming of creating a special tutu that would celebrate everything I stand for: passion, sparkle, pink, and, of course, ballet!

And guess what? I got to try them on! Imagine this: The little room is all lit up with pink fairy lights, I'm wearing a perfectly fitting pink tutu (I can’t tell you what it looks like, sorry! It’s still under wraps!) and Charlotte is handing me a gorgeous pink champagne glass (we're celebrating all things pink here, remember?) while snapping pictures of my glorious twirling! I can’t tell you how unbelievably perfect this moment felt. I was like a ballerina from a dream – and honestly, every woman deserves a chance to feel like that.

Charlotte says the new line, 'Emma's Tutus,' will be dropping at Pink Petal in the next few weeks – I’m going to share all the details on www.pink-tutu.com soon – so watch out for that!

Before I left Pink Petal, I popped into their studio, which Charlotte uses to give private ballet classes. I simply had to have a little dance! The mirror, lined with soft, pink twinkling fairy lights, reflected my every move, creating a magical little world. And even though my shoes are not as glamorous as the professional ones in the shops (just some trusty real ballet shoes - and yes, you do get a certain type for beginners! And remember, the shoe must always fit!), I felt utterly comfortable and confident, performing for an imagined audience of ecstatic, cheering ballet enthusiasts. I truly believe that every woman deserves to experience this - a place to let loose, move your body freely, and feel the magic of dance.

Mitcham might not be the most exciting location on the planet, but thanks to Pink Petal and Charlotte's dedication to all things pink and tutus, it felt like a little piece of fairy tale paradise! And guess what? There's also a fantastic horse-riding place in Mitcham! Sadly, it was closed when I was there, but just knowing it's there feels almost magical, don’t you think? I just know a magical ride through the countryside is coming my way sometime soon, so stay tuned for updates on that.

Anyway, dears, I've got to fly (literally, my feet ache a little from all that twirling! That’s what you get when you go from office shoes to proper dance shoes!), but before I do, I'll leave you with a little dose of Pink-tutu-fueled inspiration. Do something you've been putting off. Do something for yourself, even if it's a tiny, little twirl.

Do it in pink! Do it in a tutu!

See you all tomorrow on www.pink-tutu.com for more Tutu Tales. Until then, darling lovelies, happy dancing!
