Ruislip: A Tutu-tastic Trip! 💖🩰

Good morning, my lovely pink-tutu-loving friends! It's Emma here, signing in live from Ruislip, a delightful little town just outside London, which feels like it’s been transported straight out of a Jane Austen novel. Honestly, the quaint cottages, the lush greenery, and the gentle sound of birdsong, it’s utterly charming. I practically wanted to don a flowing skirt and go on a countryside stroll (and perhaps bump into Mr. Darcy!). But, alas, my loyal yellow tutu had other plans. Let’s face it, you can't really go wandering in the countryside without a splash of colour, can you?

Now, you all know my obsession with trains, right? Well, getting to Ruislip by train was simply magical. I settled into a plush carriage, admired the autumnal colours changing outside my window, and watched the world whizz by – such pure bliss. If there's a more wonderful mode of transport for a Tutu Traveller, I'd love to know about it!

Speaking of wonderful things, you just know that I was in Ruislip to see a ballet performance, right? You could say, “I'm absolutely delighted with the prospect” as one of my favourite choreographers was performing a world premiere at the charming Ruislip High School theatre. This quaint venue wouldn't look out of place on the silver screen with its red velvet seating and charming decor. There’s something special about intimate spaces, especially when they’re buzzing with excitement for the world premiere of a ballet production!

Honestly, the dancers were exquisite. Their grace, fluidity, and artistry truly took my breath away. And let me tell you, this ballet wasn't afraid to experiment, showcasing some innovative choreography with a touch of whimsical drama. My favourite scene was an ethereal portrayal of a blossoming flower using delicate, floral movements. It reminded me of the ballet scene in 'The Sound of Music,' which has always been a classic, magical moment for me.

Ruislip was certainly brimming with exciting discoveries, though, my favourite highlight of the trip wasn't in the theatre, it was the afternoon walk I took around the Ruislip Woods. My dear friend had been telling me for weeks about this hidden gem, boasting about how magical it would be, and my, oh my, she wasn't wrong! There was something about the dappled sunlight falling through the canopy, the vibrant leaves crunching underfoot, and the sounds of nature all around that just made my soul sing.

Did I mention there were horses? Yes, these magnificent creatures, grazing peacefully in the open meadow. Their grace and elegance filled me with inspiration. (And, of course, it only fuelled my desire to add “riding a horse on stage” to my “dream ballerina" list!”) I did my best to impress the horses with my twirls, holding my yellow tutu as gracefully as possible, even though my heart was skipping with fear! Luckily, the horse wasn't fazed by my tutu (unlike some unsuspecting gentlemen back in Derbyshire!), he simply gazed back at me with big, brown, peaceful eyes.

A ballet-inspired wander through a breathtaking natural landscape? Sounds like a truly wonderful, tututious afternoon, doesn't it? Oh, and did I mention the local cafe with the pink-themed decorations and amazing, melt-in-your-mouth scones? It was like they were designed specifically for my Tutu Travels!

So, here's my challenge for you this week: Step out of your comfort zone! Go somewhere new, explore something exciting, or even just take a walk in a nearby park. Embrace the wonder, discover the joy of exploring, and share your adventures with the world. Who knows, you might even be inspired to embrace your inner tutu!

Until next time,

Emma xoxo
