Solihull Calling: A Tutu-tastic Adventure! 🩰💕 (Post #537)

Hey darlings! Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood tutu enthusiast, reporting live from sunny (well, not that sunny, it’s England after all!), Solihull. I’ve just arrived, the journey from Derbyshire was a pure joy – a leisurely train ride punctuated by steaming mugs of tea and the comforting rumble of the tracks. It was a proper, old-fashioned steam train, so elegant and timeless – a total fairytale! (Just like me, darling, don’t you agree?).

Anyway, enough about the journey – let’s talk tutus! This little adventure was all about my love affair with all things European. As much as I adore my traditional, romantic, frilly, big-skirt tutus, I'm completely head over heels for the more modern European designs. Think clean lines, bold colour, and oh, the textures! This time, I packed a little gem: a sleek black tutu with just a hint of sparkle. Think Audrey Hepburn meets a ballerina, a touch of sophistication with a whole lot of sass.

It’s so good for a city setting! After all, a trip to Solihull calls for a touch of sophistication, don’t you think? It felt absolutely perfect as I strolled through the charming cobbled streets of Solihull, with the winter air biting my nose and the sound of festive music echoing around the corner.

Speaking of festive, have you seen the decorations?! They are truly spectacular – Christmas trees that practically touch the sky, shimmering lights illuminating the streets, and even a jolly little Santa Claus perched on a window ledge. It’s practically Christmas in July! Of course, I've been wearing my favourite pink hat, as well as pink boots (that were on a "one day only, 50% off deal", you can bet I scooped those up!) so I really am the very pinkest fairy of them all, ha!

I had the most divine lunch at a little tea shop - the kind with checkered tablecloths and delicate floral china, so quintessentially British, darling! It was just what I needed to fuel me for my afternoon of adventures. You know how I feel about getting my tutu on – and so after my lunch I joined a ballet class right there in Solihull. It was incredible. It was an "adult only" class and there were so many lovely people, some had a real talent, but lots were just there for the fun – and that's what it is all about! There's nothing better than dancing with friends. I even learned some fancy footwork, which means the next time I hit the dance floor I’m going to be a real show-stopper.

Speaking of dance, I’ve got a super special treat planned for tomorrow: a spectacular ballet show at The Town Hall! You know I just can't resist a bit of live theatre, and this production sounds incredible! We're talking incredible dancers, beautiful costumes, and the magic of ballet on full display. Oh darling, I can hardly wait!

As if all that wasn't enough, Solihull also has some gorgeous parks with wild peacocks. Now, I'm a total bird lover and peacocks have always held a special place in my heart. Seeing them strut their stuff amongst the lush greenery, I almost thought I'd been transported to some far-off fairytale! And they weren’t the only beautiful creatures, darling, as I saw so many squirrels with their gorgeous, fluffy tails and tiny robins looking for scraps – they are so beautiful! You know how much I love all the natural world! I actually got a real good close-up snap of a squirrel and it really captures his spirit! I'll be sure to share it with you guys on Instagram later today.

But you know me, it's not all just frocks and feathers. It's about spreading the love! And what better way to do that than by inspiring others to embrace the joy of ballet, darling? So let’s make a pact right now: let’s pledge to try something new. If you’ve never stepped foot in a dance studio before, why not try a beginners class? It might surprise you how much fun you’ll have! And while we’re at it, who’s up for a little tutu-wearing challenge? Think about it - a bright, cheerful, pink tutu! It'll make the world a better place, darling! Just think, a wave of pink, and then you could have your own Pink Tutu party. How fabulous would that be?! I would love for you to leave a comment and tell me what your favourite tutu colour is, if you wear a tutu!

Well, I’m signing off now, but you know what that means, don't you? That’s right – it’s tutu time! Time to find a local class, and let’s all start dancing together!

Love and sparkle, Emma xo
