Stratford Upon Avon: A Fairy Tale Tutu Adventure! (Post #650)
Hello my gorgeous Tutu Angels! 💖
It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, bringing you a fresh dose of twirling magic straight from the heart of Shakespeare country! I've just had the most incredible day exploring Stratford Upon Avon, and of course, I had to wear my special "Fairy" tutu for the occasion! It's a dream, really - delicate tulle in a shimmering pastel pink with silver snowflakes sparkling all over. I felt like I was floating on air, ready for any adventure.
The journey here was part of the adventure itself, wouldn't you say? Instead of taking the usual train, I opted for a scenic horse-drawn carriage ride. I felt like I was stepping straight out of a Jane Austen novel! It's a good job my pink tutu has plenty of layers; I had to layer up for the cool April air, but it just made me look all the more fabulous!
Once we arrived in Stratford, the first place we headed to was the magnificent Royal Shakespeare Theatre. It's so majestic, and full of history. Can you imagine all the talented dancers who've performed here? It almost makes me wish I'd chosen theatre over ballet (almost, mind you! 😂)
I could hardly wait to explore the beautiful gardens surrounding the theatre. They're filled with gorgeous flowerbeds, ancient trees and a lovely little wildlife sanctuary. Of course, I couldn't resist a little photo shoot. After all, how can you have a tutu-tastic day in Stratford without immortalizing it for posterity? Imagine the stunning Instagrammable pictures!
Our next stop was a magical experience - the "Shakespeare's Birthplace" house! It's been over 20 years since I last visited Stratford, and this place is still just as charming and full of wonder as I remembered it. I particularly love the fact that they’ve preserved his childhood bedroom, giving us a glimpse into the life of such an incredible playwright.
Naturally, I indulged in some delightful afternoon tea at a cosy tea room tucked away on a cobbled street. It wouldn't be a trip to Stratford without a proper cuppa and some delicious cake, would it? After all, ballet and cake are a perfect match. Just ask my dear dance teacher in Derbyshire, she's constantly giving us slices to fuel our performances!
To end our adventure on a high, we enjoyed a lovely stroll along the River Avon. The picturesque bridges and the gentle flowing water are truly breathtaking. It felt so peaceful and calming, it's no wonder Shakespeare drew so much inspiration from this beautiful place.
And what do you think of my Fairy tutu, dear readers? Did it perfectly complement this whimsical day? I certainly felt like I was stepping out of a magical dream, surrounded by beauty, wonder, and, of course, an abundance of pink!
