Carshalton: Where Pink Tutus Met Wild Ducks

#TutuBlog Post 741

Hello my darling tutu lovers! It’s Emma here, writing to you from the enchanting town of Carshalton. As always, I'm wearing my signature pink tutu, of course - it’s impossible to resist a twirl-tastic opportunity like this!

Today's adventures started with a train journey that felt like a trip through a Jane Austen novel. Sunshine streaming through the windows, the rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels, and the scent of lavender from the fields whipping past – pure magic!

Arriving in Carshalton, I was immediately charmed by the picturesque streets. Quaint cottages nestled amongst charming cafes and blooming gardens. This place feels straight out of a fairytale!

And what’s a day trip without a ballet show, right? I snagged tickets for a performance at the charming Carshalton Village Hall. Let me tell you, this wasn’t your typical, grand theatre production – and that’s what made it so delightful. The intimate atmosphere felt wonderfully cosy and warm, like catching up with old friends. It was a production of Swan Lake, a personal favourite of mine. I'm such a sucker for that ethereal elegance.

My favourite bit? This local dance school was so imaginative - they incorporated the scenery of the village hall itself into their sets. It truly felt like watching a scene unfold before our very eyes, just the way nature does its own dance each and every day. They even incorporated the old trees in the nearby churchyard and the village green.

After the show, it was off for a leisurely stroll through Carshalton Park. Sunbeams danced on the lush green grass, and a gentle breeze carried the sweet scent of blooming flowers. It felt so peaceful. The air was alive with the chatter of birds and the joyful squawks of ducks, gliding serenely on the lake. Ducks and pink tutus? A match made in heaven! I made a few new feathered friends.

The whole day felt incredibly tranquil and inspiring. I just adore those little moments when ballet seeps into everyday life, reminding you that beauty exists in every corner. It makes me dream of dancing on the village green one day – pink tutu, ducks, and all!

And speaking of ballet, did I mention my latest tutu discovery? I stumbled upon this fantastic boutique while browsing the streets of Carshalton. They call themselves 'Tutu-a-licious'. How could I resist, right? It's not often you find an actual ballet tutu shop in an independent location like Carshalton.

This little shop is a wonderland of tulle, sequins, and vibrant colours. You wouldn’t believe the variety – they even had a magnificent purple tutu with a cascading cascade of sparkling beads. I managed to hold back the urge to twirl around the shop like a ballerina in a sugar plum dream (although I may have snuck in a little pirouette behind the owner’s back).

It’s amazing how this small town holds such big surprises – a testament to how even in the busiest of lives, it’s essential to take the time to slow down and savour the small moments.

So, what have you been up to, darling tutulovers? Tell me everything! Did you happen to wear your pink tutu today? Did you try something new? Don’t forget to share your stories and photos with me! I can’t wait to see them on Instagram @pink_tutu and here on www.pink-tutu.com

Keep shining bright, you radiant beings!

Love, Emma

P.S. My new tutu is so going to be a part of my next dance performance. Maybe I'll even try to integrate it with Carshalton's wild duck theme! 🦆🩰
