Cambridge Calling! 🩰💕 Post #813

Hey lovely lot, it’s your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, back with another fabulous blog post. Today I’m bubbling with excitement – I’m in Cambridge! Yes, the historic, charming, and utterly captivating city that's calling me home for a few glorious days. And you know what else I’m bringing with me? You guessed it, my trusty pink tutu!

I may have to tone down the tutus a tad for a visit to the historic King's College Chapel – just a little inappropriate for the grand architecture. Still, I'm hoping to snag a photo or two of me twirling amongst the beautiful stained-glass windows and soaring arches, so stay tuned for those!

This trip is about a lot more than just pretty pictures and ballet-themed fun, although there’s definitely going to be plenty of that too! It's a chance for me to discover some of Cambridge's hidden gems, immerse myself in the scholarly atmosphere (and yes, I am trying very hard not to fall in love with the dreamy library setting of every university here!), and most importantly, share my love of ballet with all of you.

Speaking of ballet, my trip started in true Emma fashion - a fabulous train journey in style. I may not be a true ‘princess’ in my bright pink tutu, but the comfort of my seat, a cup of steaming tea (with honey, of course!), and the panoramic views as I zoomed through the countryside… it was all absolutely magical.

Dancing Through The History

Cambridge is bursting with history, and you bet I'm ready to explore it all! First on the agenda is a visit to the Fitzwilliam Museum. I've heard there's a stunning collection of antique musical instruments, and you know how much I love to hear those enchanting melodies!

Afterwards, it's time to step into a truly magical setting - the University Botanic Garden. There’s just something so calming and inspiring about strolling through rows upon rows of blooming flowers and towering trees. It's almost like a real-life fairy tale, and the inspiration is sure to flow into my ballet routine (I’ve even packed my little travel tutu for those perfect moments!).

Oh, and speaking of fairytales, don't forget the famous punting experience! I’m determined to find a beautiful, sunny day, hire a punt, and navigate the waterways of Cambridge with a graceful (and hopefully not too clumsy!) style. Imagine me floating along, tutus swirling, serenaded by the sounds of Cambridge and the happy chatter of fellow travellers. Pure bliss!

Food For Thought

But my adventure isn’t just about the cultural and historic wonders. A girl's gotta eat, and Cambridge won't disappoint! There’s a wonderful little café by the river, tucked away amongst the cobblestone streets. I'm hoping for delicious afternoon tea, finger sandwiches, and enough clotted cream to last a lifetime (let’s face it, I’m definitely planning on indulging!).

Bringing Ballet To Life

As much as I adore discovering the beauty of the past, I always make sure to inject a little ballet magic wherever I go. I'm keeping a keen eye out for any opportunities to bring the magic of ballet to life, perhaps in a courtyard square or a bustling market. You know how I love spontaneous ballet street performances – after all, spreading ballet joy is my biggest passion!

Adventures By Train

And the beauty of travelling by train (a true treat for any fashion-forward dancer who wants to travel in style!) is that it allows me to discover a new town or city each day! On Friday, I’m hopping on a train to the delightful city of York! I’ve heard it’s bursting with charm and character, and there’s a wonderful ballet show I’ve got tickets for – I simply can’t wait to lose myself in the grace and emotion of live ballet performances.

My dear readers, as you can tell, I'm brimming with anticipation for this whirlwind of ballet adventures! It’s so thrilling to share my travels and my love for ballet with you all. Remember, I'm all about spreading positivity and encouraging everyone to embrace their inner ballerina. Even if you’ve never set foot in a ballet studio, I encourage you to grab your most colourful (perhaps even pink!) attire and channel that graceful inner ballerina! It’s all about expressing yourself and having fun!

So stay tuned, my lovelies. I'll be updating you on my Cambridge escapades with more photos and adventures, because trust me, I'm not finished yet!

Until next time,

Love,

Emma xx

P.S. I just realised I completely forgot to mention my favourite part of Cambridge! The wildlife! From squirrels darting through the parks to swans gliding gracefully on the River Cam (and even the occasional cheeky goose, ready to make mischief!), I just adore the way wildlife adds a touch of nature’s beauty to the urban landscape.
