It's your girl, Emma, signing in from a gloriously sunny Hanwell! This little gem of a town, nestled in the heart of West London, is the perfect setting for this week's tutu-tastic adventure.
Post number 1006 is bringing the sunshine and the sparkle – can you tell I'm smitten with this place? Hanwell is a breath of fresh air, a place where vintage charm meets modern energy, and where a splash of pink is always welcomed. Just like me!
Speaking of pink… You know I couldn't resist packing my sparkliest, most whimsical pink tutu for this trip. This one is a true beauty, a cloud of shimmering tulle that practically begs to be twirled in the sun. (I might have even gotten a little lost in the excitement and skipped a beat at the station - it's just that delightful.)
The Ballet Scene: A Hanwell Waltz
Hanwell might not have the grand theatres of the West End, but the dance spirit is alive and kicking! The community hall in the village square held a beautiful ballet recital last night. It was full of charm and a sheer love for the art, and I'm telling you, the passion in those dancers' eyes was infectious! The sheer joy of watching them move, their bodies telling a story without a single word spoken – truly inspiring!
Afterwards, we enjoyed a cheeky cocktail at the quaint pub next door – their "Pink Princess" was divine! The local bartenders have a real flair for making cocktails with names that bring out the playful side in you! Adventures On The Tracks:
Getting to Hanwell was half the fun. I opted for a train journey to soak up the scenery. There's nothing quite like the rhythm of the train, the gentle swaying as you glide through the countryside, and the world flitting by your window. It truly awakens the senses, and it's always a good opportunity to get those travel snaps going! (Stay tuned to my Instagram feed for a little visual treat!)
Wildlife Wonders:
As if this trip couldn't get any better, my journey through the British countryside unveiled some amazing wildlife! I spotted a flock of robins fluttering amongst the hedges – such cheerful little creatures with their bright red chests! A* fluffy white bunny* even made a quick cameo, popping up by the track as the train passed. Honestly, these moments of connection with nature are always a highlight, reminding me of the beauty we find all around us.
Fashion and Inspiration:
My trusty pink-hued notebook filled with ideas and sketches was by my side, of course! From the vintage charm of Hanwell's independent boutiques to the street-style looks I've seen around town, the inspiration keeps flowing. The colours and textures of Hanwell's architecture, the quirky floral arrangements in the village shop window, even the patterns of the cafe tiles - it's all fuel for my imagination!
And of course, it wouldn't be a true "Emma" blog post without a tutu-tastic outfit! I'm sporting a floral-patterned tunic dress with delicate lace, layered with a light pink cashmere cardigan. My signature pink ballet pumps bring it all together with a playful touch – ready for anything!
Ballet Beyond the Stage:
You know, one of my biggest passions is bringing ballet to the masses, making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone! It doesn't matter if you're a seasoned dancer or have never worn a tutu before, there's magic in the art of movement, and the grace and power it inspires within.
This weekend, I'm trying out a beginner's ballet class at a local studio here in Hanwell. I'm excited to share the experience with you, and show you how even the smallest movements can bring joy and expression!
