Frome Calling! (Post #1007)

Helloooo darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed gal Emma, reporting live from the quaint, charming town of Frome.

Just a little while ago, I was rocking my deluxe leotard in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, surrounded by gentle mooing cows and playful sheep, but a quick trip on the train has brought me to this delightful corner of Somerset.

I've been following Frome on Instagram for ages, mesmerized by the stunning architecture and the abundance of independent shops. You see, Frome has this amazing "Frome Independent" market, happening every month, filled with handmade goods, vintage finds, and yummy local produce. Now, my lovelies, you know I couldn't resist!

Today was market day, and I couldn't wait to soak it all in. Let's be honest, it's practically impossible for me to resist a pretty vintage fabric, so imagine my excitement when I spotted this glorious, flowy, floral-print chiffon skirt in the most incredible shade of dusty pink. It practically begged me to add it to my collection. And my, how could I possibly say no? I paired it with my favourite, pearl-adorned, off-the-shoulder top, my trusty blush-pink ballerina flats, and of course, my darling little tutu tucked beneath it all for that touch of effortless ballerina chic. It was a fashion triumph, if I do say so myself!

Frome truly is a treat for the senses. From the delightful aroma of freshly baked sourdough and cinnamon rolls to the melody of the street musicians and the laughter of happy shoppers, it’s a place that captures your soul and makes you feel truly alive. I spent hours wandering the cobbled streets, getting lost in the vibrant tapestry of sights and sounds.

After my shopping spree, I had a most delicious lunch at The Black Swan - a cosy little cafe with a quaint courtyard and a menu that celebrates the best of local produce. A truly heavenly chicken and avocado sandwich washed down with a refreshing elderflower cordial left me feeling wonderfully satisfied.

The day culminated in an impromptu visit to a nearby garden centre. Now, any keen follower of my blog will know I have a secret (or perhaps not so secret) love affair with flowers. There is nothing I adore more than spending hours strolling through a garden centre, losing myself amongst the beautiful colours and intoxicating scents. This one was full of colourful blooms, enchanting sculptures, and those irresistible birdhouses that I always dream of putting in my (yet to be) garden.

Before I embarked on my journey back to Derbyshire, I knew I simply had to capture the essence of this wonderful day in a few snapshots. My camera practically hummed with excitement as I snapped photos of every picturesque nook and cranny Frome offered. The sunlight dancing on the buildings, the playful pigeons strutting their stuff in the square, and the vibrant flowers adorning the market stalls - all made for perfect little vignettes of a day beautifully spent.

But alas, my darling Frome, you have left your mark on me, and I know I’ll be back soon to explore your charms further. And oh, dear readers, if you're ever in search of a beautiful little town full of warmth, creativity, and an enchanting atmosphere, I strongly encourage you to pack your bags and head to Frome! It truly is a place that will leave you feeling happy and inspired.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a complete blog post without some ballet talk, right? The train journey to Frome was full of inspiration. My imagination ran wild, conjuring up elaborate ballet routines inspired by the rolling countryside that flashed by. I can practically feel the delicate pliés as I envision graceful leaps through meadows of wild flowers and gentle waltzes under the soft sunlight filtering through the branches. Oh, the possibilities are endless, my dears!

Now, let's not forget the power of pink! How else do you think I manage to stand out in this enchanting ballet-inspired world of mine? Embrace your inner princess and try something a little different! It's time to ditch the drab, my darling readers, and dive into a world of whimsy and colour.

Oh, and don't forget to head over to www.pink-tutu.com, because the fun never stops! Until next time, remember, every day is an opportunity to wear a tutu, embrace your inner ballerina, and create your own enchanting story!

See you soon, Emma
xx
