Eltham Calling! 🌸🩰

Good morning, lovelies! It's Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood tutu enthusiast, ready to take you on a whirl through a day of pink perfection and pirouettes. Today, I'm swapping my Derbyshire dales for a day trip to the enchanting Eltham Palace, a historical haven just a short hop from the bustling city.

You know me, I couldn't resist taking this journey on the scenic route – train, of course! The carriage window was a frame for breathtaking rolling countryside and quaint little towns. It was a journey for the senses, the kind of trip where you'd want to take your sketching kit and let the landscape guide your hand. But the best part? This journey was my chance to flaunt my new pink tulle tutu – oh, how the other passengers on the train did coo and giggle! It just brightens up even the dullest carriage, and trust me, the extra twirls I managed on the train are the most satisfying pirouettes I've done in a while!

And now, the star of the show: Eltham Palace! This Tudor marvel with its manicured gardens, stately halls, and history whispered on every stone is truly a ballet dancer's dream! As I wandered through the medieval corridors, I could almost feel the whispers of historical figures passing through those very doors, I imagine a waltz of royalty and their guests in this magnificent setting!

Speaking of dreams, the Palace gardens are like a scene out of a whimsical ballet. I saw more butterflies fluttering among the roses than you could shake a feather boa at! And a peacock with eyes that could rival any stage costume just strutted its stuff near the lily pond, as if he was starring in his own elegant avian performance! It made me realise just how much ballet can inspire beauty, elegance, and grace in every corner of our lives, even in nature's grandest theatre.

Now, don't get me wrong, my trip wasn't all about stately walks and admiring the scenery (although it was certainly fabulous!). A true ballerina knows how to incorporate a spot of dance into any setting. So, guess what? I held my own impromptu performance on the manicured lawns. The Palace staff gave me a few odd looks (I do believe one said "is that tutu appropriate, dear?" with a chuckle!), but honestly, why hold back? Who wouldn't want to add a little sprinkle of pink and tutus to a Tudor setting? I've always believed that everyone deserves a dose of pirouette magic in their lives, and you know what? I think I made those passersby believe it, too!

And there it is, my lovely readers - a day of pink perfection and graceful escapades, topped off with a bit of tutus, history, and butterflies. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a few more tutu outfits waiting to be styled for tomorrow's blog post – it wouldn't be Emma in a tutu world without some fabulous wardrobe changes!

And remember, every day is a performance, and with a touch of pink and a graceful step, even the simplest journey becomes a dance to remember. So, what are you waiting for? Put on your tutu, go out there and embrace the world with the beauty of ballet in your heart, just like me. Until tomorrow, you all, keep dancing, keep shining, and keep being amazing!

Love,

Emma
