Cleethorpes, Darling! (Blog Post #1206)

Oh, hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger, Emma, back with another adventure! Today I'm whisking you all away to the delightful seaside town of Cleethorpes!

Now, I know what you're thinking - "Cleethorpes, Emma? Really?". And I totally get it. Some might see it as a bit... well, unremarkable. But darling, allow me to reframe your perception! It's got everything a girl could need - a vibrant seafront, quaint little shops, and the most breathtaking sunset you've ever laid your eyes on (just you wait and see, I'll have a snap for you).

The journey, however, was a bit of a challenge. The only way to travel in style is by train, wouldn't you agree? And you wouldn't believe the drama I encountered! It all began as I sashayed onto the platform, my perfectly pink, voluminous tutu flowing behind me like a delicate ballerina's dream. Just picture the scene: I was the epitome of effortless chic in a crisp white blouse, matching pink hat, and of course, the iconic pink tutu.

As I settled in my seat, a group of rather boisterous young lads seated behind me decided to test their singing voices with questionable renditions of Achy Breaky Heart. Honestly, darlings, I had to keep my dignity by focusing intently on the magazine article about the "top 5 ballet performances you should see before you die". Thankfully, the train journey was mercifully short, arriving in Cleethorpes just in time for my favourite seaside ritual: Fish and chips!

Now, let's be honest, it's not exactly the same experience as waltzing through a Parisian cafe with a flute of champagne. But honestly, the salt air, the seagulls screeching in the background, and the crispy fish and chips - it's pure magic. You really feel connected to nature, which is a bonus for a ballet dancer like myself. Who knows, maybe a few seagulls will inspire my next dance routine?

Later, I took a leisurely stroll along the seafront, breathing in the fresh air and feeling the wind in my perfectly coiffed hair. A bit of sun was shining, which made everything even more picture-perfect (a bit of bronzer and I was ready for my close up!). There were people walking their dogs, families playing in the park, and the obligatory seagulls diving into the waves. And what's a girl's trip to the seaside without a trip to the arcades? I confess I had a good time indulging in some of those cheesy but undeniably entertaining games. Who could resist trying to win a massive fluffy pink unicorn? (Spoiler alert: I lost - boo!)

Speaking of things fluffy and pink, my adventure wouldn't be complete without a stop at the "Cleethorpes Aquarium". It might not be a royal palace, but let me tell you, the colours, the movement, and the underwater world's beauty was simply magical! They even have a graceful sea turtle named Grace. The poor dear seems to be a little lost, she must have wandered too far from her beachside home. I felt an instant connection. My goal in life, you see, is to get everyone dancing in pink tutus, but my new dream is to inspire a turtle dance revolution, with all the graceful creatures twirling their flippers to beautiful ballets in the underwater kingdom. I may even go ahead and organize a charity fundraiser for them - what do you think?

My stay in Cleethorpes was all too brief, but it was certainly memorable. I'm already planning my next visit, perhaps a weekend break in spring, when the weather is just perfect. But one thing's for sure, darling: wherever I travel, I'll always be sure to bring my trusty pink tutu along!

Don't forget, I love to hear your thoughts on my travels! You can leave a comment below, share your own pink-tutu-wearing adventures, or simply let me know what you're looking forward to seeing me explore next. Remember, join the pink-tutu revolution!

Until next time, stay beautiful, stay fabulous, and never stop twirling!

Lots of love,

Emma
