Kenton Calling! 🩰

Post Number 1229

Hello my gorgeous darlings! It's Emma, back from a whirlwind trip to the beautiful Kenton and ready to share every twirling detail with you. 💕

It's been a long time since I graced your screens with a blog post (but don't worry, my devotion to my daily updates remains steadfast! Just sometimes, life takes a little detour through a field of daisies and a meadow of butterflies…more on that later! 😉)

So, the journey began on the scenic Settle-Carlisle line. Have I mentioned how much I love train travel? It's such a quintessential part of my ballerina life! I always get a window seat and, as the carriage rattles along, my imagination dances with every passing field. 🌾

The sunshine was glorious, casting its warm glow across the rolling hills. I wore a pale pink blouse and a little black skirt, a bit of an outfit change from my usual black leotard! 😉 And, of course, my favourite pink ballerina shoes! Every step I take, I imagine a perfect pirouette and feel the magic of the dance floor beneath my feet.

Speaking of dancing, one of my most precious joys in Kenton was catching a ballet performance at the charming, quaint theatre there. The programme featured a contemporary piece set to a stirring score that spoke to my soul. I was completely captivated by the dancers’ powerful movements, and I even shed a little tear as the final curtain fell. Tears are so often an integral part of our shared experience as dancers, you know, my dears? 💖

It’s no secret that I love all forms of dance: from ballet classes in Derbyshire to a spontaneous waltz under the stars; from ballets on a grand scale in Covent Garden to impromptu ballet-style performances on the train platform in Manchester...I feel the dance pulse strong within me. The energy flows and, trust me, it flows through every step.

And that’s not all. As always, Kenton was filled with lovely surprises. In the afternoon, I explored a charming meadow where a friendly herd of sheep greeted me with wide-eyed curiosity. Isn’t there something enchanting about wildlife, especially those furry creatures with innocent gazes? They just seem so full of natural joy and unbridled glee. I almost felt like skipping around with them…but maybe next time! I’ll be careful of that fence next time!

Then, I enjoyed a delightful stroll around Kenton. You wouldn’t believe the wonderful selection of antique shops! I found a perfect pink vintage tutu – a little dusty, of course, but just perfect! And I spotted a small independent bookshop crammed with novels that promised tales of adventure, romance, and of course, ballet. Of course, I had to grab a few! (Let's be honest, how could I resist a novel called 'The Dancing Duchess', complete with a captivating image of a ballerina on its cover? )

The day flew by as if it were a single graceful leap across the stage, But you know me, my dear readers – even with the shortest of timeframes, I always pack in my explorations, always with a passion for seeing all the beautiful sights that the world has to offer. I find inspiration everywhere – a whisper of nature in the rustling of the leaves, a flourish of grace in a well-placed dance move, a story woven through words.

Now, as my adventures wind down, my mind dances back to the wonderful memories of my Kenton escapade. I can't help but reflect on the message of my ballet travels: a message that’s not just about a single performance, a graceful pirouette, a well-executed jump, or a well-chosen tutu (although tutus are definitely pretty special) - but something so much more profound, a message that dances across the whole of life: that there is beauty and magic all around us if only we choose to open our hearts to it. And, my dearest, that magic often comes with a hint of pink! 💖

Remember, darlings, embrace the magic of everyday, live each moment with passion, grace, and a touch of that irresistible, inspiring, exhilarating, and, dare I say, simply magnificent colour - pink!

Until next time, keep on twirling and let your own passions guide you! 🩰
