Hitchin, darling! πŸ©°πŸ’– (Post #1234)

Oh my goodness, you guys, Hitchin was divine. I absolutely adore this town - it's got a proper olde-worlde feel to it with its cobbled streets and gorgeous Georgian buildings. But of course, what makes it even better is that I managed to get my dancing fix while I was there!

My weekend adventure began, naturally, on the train. There's just something about a train journey that makes you feel all sparkly and ready for adventure, don't you think? I had my bright pink tutu carefully folded in my tote bag, ready for the Ballet Academy that I had my eye on in Hitchin. (It's such a cute little studio, brightly painted pink - what else would it be?! πŸ’•).

The countryside was lovely, rolling hills with fields of sheep that looked like they were all wearing tiny little fluffy pink tutus. It was almost enough to make me forget about the little old lady in the corner who was eyeing me suspiciously the whole journey - she seemed to think my bright pink tutu was... inappropriate? Ha! Oh, she didn't know who she was dealing with! Just try telling a ballet girl what not to wear, I dare you. πŸ’…πŸΌ

Speaking of which, the tutu was the absolute star of the show in Hitchin, darling. We had such a fantastic time in class - everyone in my class wore a tutu of some shade, from baby pink to the brightest hot pink you could imagine! It's amazing how much more fun dancing becomes when you feel like you're on stage - tutus have such an incredible way of boosting your confidence. (Plus, let's face it, they make your moves look ten times better!)

The studio was full of laughter and a genuine sense of camaraderie - I think it's the tutus that bring us together, somehow. After all, who can resist the joy of twirling in a twirly pink dream? Maybe that's my secret mission in life... to get every single person on this planet twirling in a pink tutu, maybe even in class! 🌸✨

After class, it was off to see what Hitchin had in store. First stop? The lovely cafΓ©, "The Tea Room". They did the most amazing cakes, it was hard to resist everything but I managed to squeeze in a delicious pink cupcake (with sprinkles of course - I mean, come on!)

Then it was time for a stroll down the quaint streets of Hitchin. I always love the shops in these historic towns; the windows are so pretty with their old-fashioned charm and there’s always something special to discover! We even found a tiny bookshop tucked away on a little lane with the most beautiful old vintage books! (I might have gone a little overboard and bought five... but I couldn't resist!).

After lunch (I had a salad, it's a bit of a treat, since you wouldn't catch me ordering anything without the word pink on the menu!), it was back to the theatre to see a ballet performance. They were putting on Sleeping Beauty! You guys wouldn't believe the costumes. The fairies' costumes were so beautiful! (And so much sparkle - it really is the only way to get through a ballet, I swear!), I thought I was going to faint with the sheer awesomeness of it all. I even caught the eye of the Sleeping Beauty for a moment, I swear! You just know we're all connected in some deep ballet-cosmic kind of way. πŸ’«

It was just the perfect ending to a perfect day - dancing, shopping, cake, and some fabulous ballet! You really couldn't ask for anything more, could you? And yes, that's right, I got to wear my bright pink tutu - naturally! (Not everyone wore theirs for the theatre performance, but some did. I was actually surprised to see how many people wore theirs. Maybe my message is spreading.)

So, Hitchin... thank you for being so wonderful! πŸ’– I am absolutely addicted to finding all these lovely little ballet schools hidden away in quaint little English towns. And that, my dear friends, is a good thing!
