Rutherglen: Tutu Travels Take Me Back in Time 🩰🌸

Hey darlings!

It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Rutherglen and feeling utterly inspired! Now, you all know I'm a big fan of all things ballet, and I'm particularly drawn to those moments when the past whispers through the present. This town just oozes that old-world charm, making me feel like I've stepped back into the golden age of ballet!

The train journey was, as always, a pure delight. There's something about gliding through the countryside, watching the world whizz past that makes my creative juices flow. Of course, I couldn't resist donning my latest tutu creation for the trip – a pale pink concoction with a delicate floral design that practically sang with the gentle breeze! I'm all about that vintage-inspired elegance, you see.

Rutherglen itself is like a fairytale. Cobbled streets lined with quaint shops, each bursting with its own unique charm. I simply adore the history woven into every corner, from the magnificent Rutherglen Castle to the lovely Victorian architecture. My camera couldn't stop snapping!

Now, onto the pièce de résistance – the ballet! My day was filled with rehearsals, and I'm absolutely buzzing with excitement about the upcoming performance. I can't give too much away, but I'll tell you this – it's a dramatic piece filled with soaring leaps, intricate choreography, and, of course, those breathtaking costumes. Speaking of which, I’m feeling extra excited to share a peek into my costume – a gorgeous confection in shades of soft peach and rose. We’re aiming for that fairytale elegance that perfectly embodies the era.

Of course, no visit to Rutherglen would be complete without indulging in some delectable local treats. A picnic on the banks of the Clyde, filled with fluffy scones, homemade jam, and the finest strawberry and cream, made for the perfect afternoon. My camera lens captured the beauty of it all, so keep your eyes peeled on my Instagram page – I'm bursting to share these precious moments with you all!

Now, I’m heading to the theatre for a last-minute dress rehearsal. We’ve been working tirelessly, and I know it’s going to be a phenomenal performance. This evening, you can expect a graceful dance between past and present – just the kind of magic that fills me with pure joy. I hope you're all excited to hear about it!

Tutu Tips:

  • Embrace the Pink: Did you know that pink is the official color of the International Ballet Festival? This beautiful shade embodies the graceful beauty and strength of ballet, and it's perfect for showcasing those stunning twirls and graceful movements. Don't be afraid to let your inner ballerina shine in all shades of pink!

  • Don your Tutu: This is one of my favorite things – spreading the joy of the tutu. Whether you're at the ballet, a picnic, or even just having tea in the garden, why not add a touch of playful elegance to your day with a tutu? Remember, you can find tutus in all shapes and sizes – there's a perfect one for every ballerina, no matter their style or preference!

  • Explore Ballet: Whether you’re taking a class, attending a performance, or watching online, there are so many ways to experience the magic of ballet. If you want to move beyond the traditional performances, you can check out street ballet shows for a fresh take. I love to mix up the genres!

  • Be Inspired: Be sure to get your daily dose of dance inspiration! Take time to admire the incredible skills of ballerinas – the grace, the strength, the beauty that is the art of ballet. It truly inspires me in all that I do.

Until next time, my darlings,

Happy dancing,

Emma 🌸🩰
