Dover Dreaming: A Tutu and Train Adventure 🩰

Hello darlings!

Today’s adventure took me to the stunningly beautiful Dover, a little seaside town nestled on the South coast of England. I love the dramatic cliffs and the beautiful white chalk that makes the whole place look like something straight out of a fairytale!

But let’s talk about what’s really important – the tutu. For this seaside trip, I chose a fabulous pink tulle tutu, inspired by those incredible vintage American ballerina costumes with the cascading tiers of fabric. This one has a delicate lilac lining, and the bodice is adorned with the cutest pink pearls! It makes me feel like a princess about to embark on a magical journey.

As I travelled down to Dover, I chose to go by train. There’s something so charming about settling into a comfy carriage, listening to the rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels on the track. And what better way to appreciate the gorgeous English countryside rolling by than from a window seat in a train? Plus, it’s much easier to bring my dance bag with all my pink ballet paraphernalia – tutus need TLC, you know!

Upon reaching Dover, I did what any sensible tutu-wearing lady would do – headed straight to the beach. It’s the perfect place to twirl, darling. Imagine me – hair blowing in the salty breeze, toes digging into the warm sand, sunshine sparkling in my eyes – bliss. And you wouldn’t believe the joy of swirling those tulle layers on the pier, just watching the waves crash below!

Later, after a delightful afternoon spent frolicking and enjoying the stunning view of the English Channel, I discovered a quaint little café tucked away in a charming cobbled alley. I treated myself to a steaming cup of chamomile tea (it’s my favourite!) and a delicious slice of strawberry and cream cake, perfectly fitting for my delicate tutu-clad persona.

Then, it was time to indulge my passion for ballet. Dover may not have a grand ballet theatre, but I found the most charming little studio tucked away just above the bustling market. There, I joined a lovely group of local dancers for an afternoon of pirouettes, plies, and barre work. It was simply delightful – sharing my love of ballet with such a welcoming group and perfecting my moves against a backdrop of Dover’s colourful, seaside scenery.

And you know what? Even after a long day of dancing and twirling, I couldn't resist indulging in a bit of retail therapy! A lovely boutique with vintage treasures held the most adorable pair of pink ballerina shoes, the perfect companions for my American-inspired tutu. They had a gorgeous bow on the toe and a little bit of glitter – you can’t really ask for more, can you?

This trip was filled with a symphony of pink, beautiful scenery, and that infectious energy of a seaside town. I loved being able to combine my love of ballet with my love of travelling, and, of course, with the ever-present twirling in my beautiful, pink tutu.

So darling, whether you’re a seasoned ballerina or just dreaming of dancing in a tutu, I say go for it! Get out there, embrace the pink, and twirl your worries away! It's the key to a life filled with grace, joy, and a touch of magic.

And as always, remember, dear readers: a life without a pink tutu is just… well, it's just not enough!

Lots of love,

Emma xox
