Frome Calling: A Pink Tutu Adventure

Post 1523: www.pink-tutu.com

Oh, my darlings! Can you believe it's September already? The days are getting shorter, the air is crisp, and autumn is just around the corner. But before the leaves start to turn, I'm soaking up the last rays of summer with a trip to Frome, the delightful little town nestled in the heart of Somerset.

Now, Frome is famous for its antiques market, and who doesn't love a good browse amongst vintage treasures? But for me, the real allure was the chance to visit the wonderful Frome Festival - a vibrant celebration of arts and culture.

Imagine, if you will, a sprawling town square transformed into an open-air theatre. Strolling amongst colourful market stalls brimming with crafts, street food, and local produce, all while enjoying the captivating sounds of live music spilling from every corner. It was truly enchanting.

But what was the first thing I did when I arrived? Why, I took a spin, of course! Now, it wouldn't be a proper TutuBlog adventure without a good twirl in a pink tutu.

A Touch of Pink in Somerset

I’d chosen a particularly vibrant and flowy number for the occasion, adorned with delicate lace and shimmering sequins. And let me tell you, Frome was the perfect backdrop. Think cobbled streets, quaint independent shops, and those quintessential English cottages draped in climbing vines - just pure fairytale vibes!

Of course, I wasn't just there to pose for photos (although I do have a couple of particularly glamorous shots I might just post later...).

Ballet Under the Somerset Sky

The real highlight of my trip was the outdoor ballet performance held in the festival's main courtyard.

The sun was setting, casting long shadows across the ancient stone walls of the building. The stage was adorned with twinkling fairy lights, adding a touch of magic to the already mesmerizing spectacle.

The choreography was a delightful mix of classic and contemporary styles, showcasing the incredible skill and artistry of the dancers. It was an emotional performance, one that stirred something deep inside me, reminding me of the power of ballet to move and inspire.

And the best part? The performance was completely free! It's incredible to see the arts reaching such a wide audience, and that makes me so very happy. It's always a delight to see more and more people embracing the elegance and beauty of ballet, and this truly felt like a shared joy with the whole community.

Beyond the Stage: A Day of Discovery

But my Frome adventures didn’t end with the ballet.

After a delicious afternoon tea at a charming café - complete with pink-tinged macarons, of course - I spent the rest of the afternoon wandering the market.

One of my favourite things about Frome was its commitment to local craftsmanship. I picked up a beautifully handmade leather purse and a delightful hand-painted ceramic bowl, both of which will hold pride of place in my Derbyshire home.

But before I left, I just had to explore the nearby countryside.

The landscape was just stunning – rolling hills dotted with sheep and fields bursting with sunflowers. It reminded me so much of Derbyshire, except perhaps a little bit sunnier. And, of course, it wouldn't be a true TutuBlog escapade without a glimpse of wildlife!

A friendly fox, peeking out from under a hedge, greeted me with a knowing wink. As he ambled away into the sunset, I couldn't help but feel like we'd just shared a moment of unspoken understanding. We’re kindred spirits, that one and I. Both independent, both beautiful, both undeniably a touch on the wild side…

The Power of Pink & Ballet

As I boarded the train home, reflecting on the day, I couldn’t help but smile. It truly had been a magical adventure, one that had filled my heart with joy and inspiration.

It’s those little moments – the twirls in the pink tutu, the laughter with friends, the enchanting performances, the beautiful landscapes – that remind me of the magic that surrounds us. And it is my mission to share that magic with the world.

I truly believe that everyone, everywhere, deserves a little pink tutu magic in their life! Whether it’s a glimpse of grace on the stage, a dance class, a touch of sparkle in your wardrobe, or even just the simple joy of a good spin around the room, embrace it. It’s what makes life worth living.

And so, as always, I leave you with a challenge:

Wear a pink tutu this week, embrace your inner dancer, and let the world know you're a fan of TutuBlog! Spread the magic, darling. We’re in this together. 💖✨

Much Love, Emma xx
