Wood Green Whirlwind: Tutu-tastic Travels

Post 1524

Oh my darling tutu-lovers,

Today, I'm writing to you from the charmingly unassuming town of Wood Green. Now, I know what you're thinking - "Wood Green, Emma? Really?". But trust me, this place holds a special place in my heart and is definitely a hidden gem for any ballerina with a thirst for adventure!

I travelled down from Derbyshire in the most fabulous way, of course – by train! Nothing beats the thrill of watching the world whizz by from a carriage window, the anticipation of reaching my destination bubbling inside me like a pot of pink champagne. My latest tutu creation, a delicate tulle confection in a blush of pale pink adorned with dainty lace, made heads turn even on the London Underground – talk about a grand entrance!

My purpose in Wood Green? Why, a trip to the wonderfully vibrant Alexandra Palace, of course! Home to the fabulous "Alexandra Palace Theatre", which currently houses a stunning rendition of Swan Lake, set against the backdrop of the London skyline – absolutely divine! The choreography was masterful, the dancers, breathtaking, and I felt a flutter of joy in my heart with every pirouette and arabesque.

But my visit to Wood Green wasn't just about ballet, darling. As a creature of habit, I just had to take a stroll through the lush and vibrant Alexandra Park – I simply can't resist a dose of nature, even in the heart of London. There I was, lost in a reverie amidst the rolling meadows, my imagination soaring with the flights of fancy I'd just witnessed in the theatre, when I encountered a scene so wonderfully surreal, it practically cried out to be captured for my blog.

Picture this: me, clad in my pink tutu, surrounded by an elegant herd of graceful deer. Yes, deer! Imagine my utter delight when I stumbled upon these creatures – all dainty antlers and sleek brown coats, just enjoying the balmy afternoon sunshine. We were totally surrounded by nature in all its beauty – a peaceful, heart-warming encounter which completely took my breath away!

Don't be surprised to find a few pictures of me posing with those fabulous deer in my latest pink-tutu post! Let's face it, every ballerina needs to capture such enchanting moments. It just wouldn't be a true pink-tutu journey without documenting my travels.

But here's the thing, darlings. It's not just the locations I visit or the tutus I wear that make this life so wonderful. It's the sheer joy of sharing my passion with you – inspiring each and every one of you to twirl your own unique way! My heart sings with delight whenever I see someone brave enough to put on a tutu, dance with abandon and embrace the joy of movement.

I remember feeling that exact same joy, way back in my ballet school days in Derbyshire. The tiny town of Matlock Bath held the first seeds of my love for dance and for tutus! I remember my first recital, the thrill of twirling across the stage in a pink, frilly costume, the magic in my teacher’s eyes as she guided me, and the overwhelming sense of satisfaction when the applause began!

That first experience has stayed with me, fueling my insatiable passion for this incredible world of dance and expression. That's why, every day, I strive to bring that same sense of magic and inspiration to every corner of the globe. It's why I put on a tutu, board a train, or ride a horse (my recent trips have taken me everywhere from Edinburgh to Cornwall! )– to embrace every adventure, share it with you and make the world a little more pink and a lot more twirly.

But even for the most dedicated of tutu-enthusiasts, life calls for a touch of practicality, darling. And that's why I'm on the lookout for a perfect pink tutu for everyday life! I've found some great options, but I want something versatile, something that screams "I'm a tutu-loving ballerina!" while being absolutely suitable for my usual London rambles. Imagine a day spent exploring a new cafe, indulging in delicious afternoon tea and perhaps even trying out a vintage bicycle for a charmingly retro spin around the park... all the while adorned in the most fabulous, pink tutu of course!

I'm thinking a classic A-line silhouette in a pale, delicate pink – maybe with a dash of black lace for that extra bit of elegance. What do you think, darlings? I'm wide open to your suggestions! After all, every ballerina needs her trusted tutu companions!

So until next time, don’t forget – life's a stage, darling. Go forth and twirl your way to happiness!

Much love, Emma xx
