TutuBlog #1560: Belfast Bound in a Purple Tutu!

Hello, my gorgeous little tutus! It's Emma here, bringing you sunshine and twirls from a decidedly un-Derbyshire location: Belfast! Yes, I've swapped the Peak District's rolling hills for the charm of Northern Ireland's capital, and trust me, it's a fab trip so far.

Now, you know me, I love a splash of colour, especially when it comes to my tutus. And let's be honest, the classic pink tutu is always a winner, but today I've felt like embracing a little purple whimsy! It's the colour of amethyst, royalty, and my dear granny's favourite teapot, and I must say, it's perfectly complementing the moody sky above this fabulous city.

The journey here was an absolute delight. I'm not going to lie, a train journey with a comfy seat, a book, and a delicious cuppa never gets old. Especially when the landscape is filled with green fields and charming little towns. Did I mention that a herd of magnificent red deer crossed the tracks at one point? It was like a scene from a fairytale! It honestly felt like they were applauding my fabulous purple tutu, but maybe that was just the tea doing its magic.

Belfast itself has a captivating energy. It’s a city of character, with cobbled streets that whisper stories of a rich history and towering buildings reaching for the sky. I've been indulging in a bit of sightseeing, from the iconic Belfast City Hall, all gleaming white and grand, to the vibrant murals scattered across the city. The ones dedicated to the musicians from here, like Van Morrison and Snow Patrol, were absolute highlights.

Now, my mission for today is to dive into the heart of Belfast's vibrant cultural scene. It wouldn’t be a true Emma-style adventure without some serious ballet action! Tonight I’m seeing the Royal Ballet’s production of “The Sleeping Beauty.” Oh my, the anticipation is bubbling! It’s always an absolute joy to witness the grace and storytelling of classic ballet. There’s nothing like a powerful pas de deux or a flowing pirouette to stir the soul. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll even channel my inner Sleeping Beauty for a few twirls in my purple tutu after the show.

Oh, speaking of twirling! You know my ultimate aim is to inspire the world to twirl in a pink tutu. And don't worry, there's no need for you to be a professional ballerina to do that! Everyone deserves to experience the magic of ballet in their own way. Even if it's just twirling in your kitchen while making a delicious cuppa (my go-to way to release my inner ballerina)! I truly believe that dance can bring people together and lift their spirits, so embrace your inner ballerina!

For now, I'm going to find a delicious cup of tea and a bit of peace in the charm of this Northern Irish city. Tomorrow, I’m ready to discover more hidden treasures of Belfast, and hopefully inspire a few fellow adventurers to get their pink tutus out for a good old fashioned twirl. Until then, happy twirling and stay fabulous, my dear tutus!

Love, Emma xx
