Bradford Bound! 🩰

Morning, darlings! ☀️ It's Emma here, reporting live from the wilds of Derbyshire - or at least my lovely garden, which is a wild patch compared to the manicured gardens I'm used to in some of the grand homes we've been visiting on this tour!

Today's adventure is taking me by train all the way to Bradford. Now, I know what you're thinking: Bradford! Not the most glamorous destination, right? But trust me, darlings, a little creativity and a touch of pink tutu magic can transform any place! I'm planning on making the most of this little excursion, and, of course, documenting it all for you.

It's a crisp, autumnal day and I'm already feeling that familiar twinge of excitement, like a ballerina preparing for her big solo! A long train journey gives me a chance to reflect on the past week - which was filled with rehearsals and performances for the "Cinderella" ballet - what a wonderful cast, and my performance was truly on pointe! 👠 🩰

The beautiful music and the grandeur of the theatre always takes me away to another world. But there's another aspect of ballet that gets my heart dancing – ballet in the streets! This weekend we have a street performance at the market in Matlock – it's not quite as grand as a full-scale production, but the smiles on the faces of the children watching, that's what makes it all worthwhile. You can tell those kids have been dreaming of twirling in their own pink tutus – just like me.

And you know what, it's something that I hope everyone experiences at some point – that joy of movement, that sense of lightness and grace. Maybe not quite in a full pink tutu, though, although I have been known to try! 😄

I packed my little travelling case for Bradford - a fabulous suitcase full of outfits - with, of course, the pink tutu making a special appearance. No one needs a special occasion for pink! The tutu is like my personal reminder of my joy for dance, the pure movement and joy of the body in motion.

This weekend is all about finding the beauty in the everyday – the art of a cobbled street, the bustling market square, a coffee stop with a gorgeous cup and saucer... Bradford might not have the grand stately homes of a certain Derbyshire village we visited last week, but there’s definitely a sense of character, and I’m excited to explore!

The train journey was surprisingly lovely – lots of time to chat with my fellow travellers. It always fascinates me to hear what they do. There was a lovely lady who is a wildlife photographer - can you believe, I spent almost an hour with her chatting about wildlife! Now, I love a little trip to the zoo, I have to admit, I much prefer nature. That moment I can find the animals out in their natural habitats - it gives me a real thrill, makes my imagination soar! She was talking about how she was working on a new project, a whole series about animals in their natural habitats – all around Britain. I’m planning on dropping in to see her on my next adventure!

And who knows, maybe even a little pink tutu photoshoot in some lovely Derbyshire scenery – she might be interested in getting a wildlife portrait, perhaps alongside a majestic pink tutu backdrop… maybe one day. It will definitely make her photography stand out from the rest, that’s for sure!

Anyway, after my long journey, I have decided to settle into the wonderful Bradford Hotel! It’s an absolute charmer, it even has a gorgeous little balcony overlooking the street. I have the whole afternoon to myself and it’s time to start planning how I can turn this drab Bradford corner into something amazing, a splash of pink perfection. The pink tutu is ready and so am I!

Let's get this pink tutu party started!

Until tomorrow!

Lots of love,

Emma x
