Kendal Calling! 🩰🌸 (Post #1776)

Hey lovelies! 💖

Emma here, back from a whirlwind weekend trip to the gorgeous Lake District! It's hard to believe that just a few days ago, I was sipping tea in my little Derbyshire cottage, watching the rain drizzle down the windowpanes. Now, I'm feeling like a completely different person, my spirit soaring from the stunning scenery and the adventure that unfolded before me!

You know, it wouldn't be a proper Emma adventure without a little bit of pink tulle, right? 🦩 This time, it wasn't just a pink tutu that joined me on my escapade – I packed my black tutu too! I figured it'd be a bit more dramatic for my explorations, you know, like a ballerina wandering through enchanted forests and hidden valleys.

Speaking of which, Kendal was just that: enchanted! My journey began with a train ride through the beautiful countryside – the sun peeked through the clouds, bathing the rolling green hills in a golden light. Honestly, I felt like I was stepping into a film. As I watched the scenery pass by, I imagined myself as a young princess, venturing into a secret world filled with adventure. Maybe, if I’m lucky, I might even see a knight riding on a noble steed, ready to whisk me away to his castle… maybe a prince in pink? Hehe. 🤫

When I finally arrived in Kendal, I was greeted with cobbled streets, quaint shops filled with charming knick-knacks, and a buzzing energy that was absolutely infectious.

A Ballet Dancer's Dream!

I’ve been living for a little ballet culture on my trip, and Kendal did not disappoint. It felt like every corner I turned, I discovered a new secret treasure.

On Saturday morning, I indulged in a ballet class at the most adorable studio nestled amongst the quaint shops. The teacher was so kind, she let me try a different barre exercise that felt really fun for me! Afterwards, the studio owner, a lovely lady with a passion for all things pink (who, by the way, shared my love for tea!), offered to take me for a traditional English pub lunch. We talked about ballet, life, and of course, the magical influence of a pink tutu – it’s the perfect way to tap into your inner fairy godmother, right?

Then, on Saturday night, it was time to take a seat at the lovely Kendal's Westmorland Hall for a magical performance of 'The Nutcracker'! Oh, the beauty! The sets, the costumes, the choreography – everything about it was absolutely exquisite. I was completely transported back to the snow-covered magic of Christmas Eve, and I felt so incredibly happy to be sharing this special moment with so many other passionate ballet lovers.

A Ballet Wanderer's Paradise 🥾

Of course, no trip to the Lake District is complete without some proper exploration of its natural beauty! So, with my trusty black tutu swirling around me, I set off on a little hike through the surrounding hills. The air was crisp and clean, the sunshine was warm on my skin, and the sounds of nature filled my ears. I found myself mesmerized by the panoramic views, the lush green forests, and the glistening waters of the lakes.

Honestly, there’s just something so special about the countryside. It’s a chance to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life and connect with something much bigger, something ancient and beautiful. You really get the feeling that the earth is whispering secrets to you! Maybe those whispers will be my inspiration for a new ballet piece… I must try to note them all down!

Encountering Wildlife 🦉

Along the way, I even had the most magical encounter! A tiny owl, no bigger than my hand, perched on a branch just above me. I swear, I felt like Alice stepping into Wonderland. He watched me with curious, golden eyes for a moment, and then silently flew off into the surrounding foliage. This felt like the perfect reminder of all the wonderful creatures who live amongst us.

Kendal Calling for My Inner Ballerina

My journey to Kendal wasn't just a trip – it was a spiritual experience, a chance to reconnect with my inner ballerina, the one who loves the beauty of nature and the elegance of a graceful pirouette. Kendal gave me so much inspiration, from the graceful elegance of ballet to the untamed beauty of nature, that I'm bubbling with excitement to create some new work!

I truly believe that everyone should try ballet – even if it’s just a couple of steps at home. Whether you're wearing a tutu, a T-shirt, or your best tracksuit, you’re already stepping towards a more fulfilling, graceful life! 🌸

See you tomorrow, loves! Remember to join me in my mission to spread the joy of ballet and the magic of pink tutus!

With love and pirouettes,

Emma
