Coulsdon Calling! (Post #1795) 🩰💖

Hello, my darling darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, back from a whirlwind trip to the charming town of Coulsdon, nestled just outside of London.

The journey itself was a delightful affair! My trusty steed, a lovely chestnut mare named Penny, carried me across the lush Derbyshire countryside to the station. I swear, Penny knows the way to the station better than I do now. We've been on so many adventures together. We even share a love of carrots, especially the juicy, orange ones!

After a perfectly timed train ride, I arrived in Coulsdon with a spring in my step and a slight crick in my neck (those train seats, honestly, do they ever think of our delicate ballet necks?). Of course, my pink tutu (this one, my dear readers, is a true vintage piece with delicate pearl embellishments!) made quite a splash as I disembarked. I've found that even in the most unexpected places, people are charmed by a little pink frill.

Speaking of pink, have you seen my new pink ballet slippers? They're absolute dreamboats, adorned with sparkling pink crystals that catch the light beautifully. I just can't wait to show them off at class later.

Coulsdon itself was just brimming with charm. I took a lovely stroll through the local park, a symphony of chirping birds and buzzing bees. Even the squirrels seemed to be practicing their plies! You see, there’s a certain grace in the way those little furry creatures leap and bound. If you can master that, darling, then the world of ballet is yours for the taking!

And speaking of grace, my mission for Coulsdon was, of course, to explore the local ballet scene. I discovered a delightful little dance studio called 'Twirl & Fly,' nestled within a quaint Victorian building. They welcomed me with open arms, even offering me a cup of tea before I participated in their 'Adult Beginner's Ballet class.'

Let me tell you, darlings, this was truly an inspiring class! These wonderful women were all ages and sizes, from those new to the world of ballet to those with years of experience under their belts. We had a joyous hour of pliés, relevés, and arabesques. Honestly, there’s no greater joy than the feel of silk on your skin, the lightness of your leaps, and the soft, almost sacred silence as you connect with your own body. And don’t even get me started on that beautiful sense of unity we have in the room. Just because we all love the art of dance doesn’t mean we all need to look the same, but that shared passion connects us.

After the class, I took the opportunity to chat with the owner, a lovely woman named Mrs. Miller, who told me all about her passion for ballet and her love of bringing the joy of movement to people of all ages and abilities. Her enthusiasm was contagious. It made me so happy to see such a vibrant ballet community flourishing in this quiet little town.

And no trip to Coulsdon would be complete without a delicious afternoon tea. The Lavender Rose tea shop was a real gem! Their raspberry macarons were divine, and I couldn’t resist a second cup of Earl Grey with a side of delectable finger sandwiches. Honestly, a cuppa, a tasty treat, and a pink tutu – there’s just something so magical about the perfect combination.

As the afternoon faded into dusk, I took a last stroll around the charming streets of Coulsdon. I couldn't help but think, 'What a wonderfully enchanting day!' I feel so very lucky to be able to explore all of these amazing places, and it makes my heart soar to know that every time I travel, I can meet incredible people, find little gems, and experience the beauty of the ballet world, in all its unique forms.

It's amazing, isn’t it? To see how much we share across the UK - from the rolling hills of Derbyshire to the peaceful charm of Coulsdon. This love of dance - this passion for ballet - It’s woven into our very essence, darlings. And so my friends, keep on twirling, keep on dancing, keep on wearing those pink tutus and keep on bringing your own magic into this world.

Until next time, stay stylish, stay sparkly and most importantly, stay happy!

With love and twirls, Emma xx
