Bilston Ballet Bliss: Feathering My Nest (Post #1796)

Hello darlings! Emma here, back from another whirlwind trip - this time, the fabulous town of Bilston! It's always a delight to hop on the train (well, actually, this time it was a very handsome Clydesdale - more on that later!) and explore a new corner of our wonderful country.

Now, you know my motto: Pink is the new black, and Bilston definitely embraced that philosophy! From the blush-toned bricks of the historic town centre to the soft pink blossom trailing over the Victorian lampposts, I felt right at home. But, honestly, I was here for one reason, and one reason only: to see the spectacular Ballet Bilston production of Giselle. You see, dear readers, I believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the magic of ballet.

Speaking of magic, this was no ordinary ballet experience! From the first note of the orchestra, I was captivated. The dancers, dressed in elegant tutus (I mean, how can you resist a tutu, right?) swirled and leaped with effortless grace. I particularly loved the second act, where the ethereal spirits were adorned with these beautiful, feathery tutus - truly breathtaking. It felt like being whisked away to another world, full of romanticism, sorrow, and an absolute joy of movement.

Now, let's talk about my journey to Bilston. As a confirmed horse lover, I was utterly delighted to be given the opportunity to ride with a lovely family who runs a horse-drawn carriage service. Imagine, dear readers, gliding through the rolling countryside, feeling the wind in my hair, the sun on my face, and the gentle sway of the horse's hooves carrying us along. It was utterly romantic, a real fairy tale! It was the perfect start to my Bilston ballet adventure.

After the ballet, I popped into a delightful little tea room for a cuppa and a delicious slice of cake, all washed down with a generous helping of pink lemonade. They had these lovely pink roses adorning their tables โ€“ it was positively dreamy! Then, it was off to a local wildlife sanctuary where I spent some time marvelling at a family of playful otters. They were adorable!

Now, before I leave you, I have a challenge for you: for the month of June, wear pink. Just a touch! Maybe a pink scarf, a pink headband, a pink lipstick. It's such a bright and positive colour, and I really believe it will lift your spirits.

As for the rest of you... are you ready for ballet? Let me know what you're planning to do to bring a touch of grace into your life this week! I can't wait to hear your stories!

With love and twirls, Emma
