Paignton Pinkness: A Tutu Tale (#1906)

Oh, hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller, Emma, back from a delightful trip to Paignton, nestled on the sunny Devon coast. This little town with its Victorian seaside charm just swept me off my feet, or should I say, my tiny ballet slippers?

I arrived at Paignton in style, naturally. Not by train this time, no, I travelled on the back of a gorgeous black horse, named Prince Charming, who even had a little pink bow tied to his mane, matching my outfit, of course! Just the thought of it gives me goosebumps! I've always felt a special connection with horses. Their strength and grace mirror the ballerina in me.

My heart fluttered with excitement as I disembarked from my equine chariot, the scent of the salty sea air intoxicating. My first mission, to find the perfect location for a photo shoot in a breathtaking pink tutu! This time I'd chosen my latest design, a sparkling confection with delicate frills, like the frosting on a macaron. You can just imagine my joy as I spun, the wind catching the tulle and sending the shimmering fabric dancing.

And where else could I find a picture perfect backdrop than at Paignton's charming harbour? The vibrant colours of the fishing boats and the glistening sea just begged to be painted onto a canvas of pink. My photo shoot was a dream, and even the seagulls seemed to be impressed. They probably just thought I was another fluffy pink cloud!

Now, as any true tutu devotee knows, the perfect day wouldn't be complete without a spot of ballet, wouldn't it? Paignton boasts a delightful dance studio, 'The Ballet Boutique', with a cheery pink interior, and what luck! They were holding a special "Ballet for Beginners" class for adults. It was everything a girly-girl like me could dream of – graceful movements, uplifting music, and even a small troupe of adorable kittens watching from the sidelines! They all had tiny tutus, bless their furry little hearts, though I do wish they hadn't taken my pompom off my pink ballet slipper! They do have such a curious nature!

The evening found me enjoying a delightful performance by the Paignton Amateur Theatre Group, who put on a delightful musical filled with romance, comedy and enough costume changes to make even the most experienced seamstress dizzy.

I particularly enjoyed their rendition of "The Pink Tutu," a hilarious parody of a famous ballet. The whole thing was quite literally bursting with pink, from the stage curtains to the dancers' outfits! They even incorporated a special segment called "Tutu Tuesday," with each audience member encouraged to bring their own pink tutu.

Honestly, seeing that room filled with sparkling tutus of every shape and size was truly magical. A moment I’ll forever treasure in my pink tutu memories.

After the performance, I treated myself to a delicious hot chocolate at a charming tea shop nestled near the promenade. I must confess, I accidentally ordered mine topped with a giant marshmallow and pink glitter! Just my kind of indulgence!

As the evening ended, with the sun casting a golden glow over the picturesque bay, I reflected on this wonderful day. Paignton truly charmed me with its gentle spirit, captivating seaside beauty, and warm welcome.

My travels continue, but the memory of my Paignton adventures will always stay with me, reminding me of the magic of a perfect pink tutu day! Until next time darlings! Remember, don’t be shy! Put on a pink tutu, embrace the sunshine and the fun! Every day can be a ballet, just believe!

Love,

Emma
