Herne Bay: Where Pink Tutues Meet Seagulls 🩰🌊

Hello lovelies! It’s Emma here, writing to you from the gorgeous seaside town of Herne Bay, a place that makes me feel like a true ballerina – twirling and dancing in the wind. Oh, and speaking of twirling, let's talk tutus! This little seaside haven has definitely inspired me. Imagine a seagull gracefully gliding in the sky with a splash of pink in its wing. Picture me, a blushing vision in a brand new bubblegum pink tutu, watching the sun sink into the ocean as the tide rushes in. You see, I’m all about bringing a little sparkle to life – pink tutus are my weapon of choice. ✨

I traveled here by train, which for me is practically an art form itself. It was a beautiful journey. Watching the countryside whip by my window felt like a ballet scene, with rolling green hills and stately farms passing by like dancers. You just have to love a good train journey, with time for a cup of tea, a good book, and a little time to contemplate my next tutu move.

Now, onto Herne Bay. It's like a beautiful postcard come to life! It feels both chic and nostalgic at the same time. I found the most charming little boutique just around the corner from the promenade. You'll never believe it, but they had a perfect pink tutu – a silky, whimsical creation that looked like it was made for a day spent by the sea. It has a bit of pink satin with sparkling diamante flowers, oh, and delicate layers of tulle! Of course, I snagged it immediately. How could I not? 😉

Herne Bay isn’t just a place of beauty, though. It has a vibrant and friendly community that reminded me of my lovely Derbyshire folks. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and cheerful – perhaps it was the seaside air! It felt so liberating. Even the seagulls seemed a little less, well, seagull-like, more refined, almost as if they’d adopted a bit of my ballet posture. 😜

I was eager to explore the local culture, and there was something charming about the seaside's rhythm, its quiet tranquility mixed with a lively, energetic vibe. So, of course, I had to hit up the local theater. Now, I am not talking your run-of-the-mill stage show here. This theater was filled with local talent, a blend of veteran performers and exciting newcomers. It had the heart of true artistry – those raw emotions that leave you with chills down your spine, and the warmth of connection you can’t help but embrace. They had a captivating production of “Alice in Wonderland”, full of fantastical choreography. It was absolutely captivating, a whirlwind of colour and movement, and it got me so inspired!

My favorite moment was witnessing a tiny girl on the stage, so young she barely reached the tip of the microphone. Her face was full of wonder, as she spun and skipped with pure joy. And at that moment, I realised that this is what ballet is all about – sharing that feeling of freedom, creativity, and passion. And that pink tutu of mine? Well, she became a tiny ballerina herself, twirling right alongside that young girl in my imagination!

After the show, I felt this strong connection to Herne Bay's energy, and decided it would be a perfect place to do my daily ballet exercises. There was a beautiful little park, just a stone's throw from the beach, filled with colourful flowers and chirping birds. This wasn’t your ordinary, strict ballet practice; oh no. It was much more personal and liberating, embracing the sunshine and fresh air while moving my body. Imagine me in that beautiful pink tutu, spinning and leaping among the flowers, my pointe shoes light on the dew-kissed grass. I could practically feel my love of ballet expanding as I embraced the world around me. It was pure joy!

And if that wasn’t enough to get me in a good mood, there were the horses. Not on a stage this time, but majestic creatures galloping along the nearby stables. It was something else! They reminded me that you don’t always need a grand theater stage to be in motion, sometimes it's about freedom of movement, about expressing yourself wherever you are, be it on a train, in a beautiful park, or, of course, on a beach in your fabulous pink tutu!

Herne Bay, you’ve captured my heart, my style, and my very soul. It’s the perfect place for me to twirl, explore, and dance to my own tune. And to everyone out there: go get yourself a pink tutu! Don't let anyone tell you you're too old, too big, or too small. Life's too short to hold back! The world is waiting for you to step onto the stage.

Keep sparkling, loves!

Emma xoxo

P.S. Stay tuned, my lovely tutu wearers. I’ve got big news about a special event in London coming up very soon. Keep those pink tutus ready! 😘
