Bulwell Bound in Black: Tutu Adventures in the City!

Post Number 2032

Hello, lovelies! Emma here, back with another post from the fabulous world of pink tutus! It's freezing out there, but my inner ballerina is radiating pure sunshine. Today I'm braving the winter chill for a trip to Bulwell, a little city in Nottingham, which has some real hidden gems when it comes to dance. I’ve actually never been before, so I’m super excited. I hear they have a brilliant ballet school with a gorgeous theatre, and who am I to say no to that combination?!

This time, I’m feeling bold and daring, ditching my usual pink tutu for something a little more dramatic – a chic black tutu, perfectly tailored for an exciting, urban adventure. Can you picture it? Me, swirling through the streets, the crisp air catching the tulle as I waltz past quaint pubs and independent shops. This is going to be pure balletic bliss!

Before leaving my Derbyshire haven, I’m indulging in a little pre-trip ritual: breakfast of champions! My favourite pink porridge with berries and a dollop of yoghurt - perfect for fuelling the ballerina inside! And yes, you know what else I’m wearing? Pink tutus! Yes, even for breakfast, why not? My boyfriend says I'm a little OTT, but hey, life is meant to be vibrant.

So, how am I getting to this bustling little city? Not by car today, darling. I'm feeling adventurous, so I'm taking the train. Nothing quite compares to that magical train journey, gazing out the window as the landscape flies by. I can't wait to arrive in Bulwell! I just know it will be a true inspiration, perhaps a little spark of creative genius for my next big tutu design!

Speaking of creative sparks, have you seen that stunning street performance of Swan Lake that’s doing the rounds on Instagram? Just breathtaking! And talking about street performance, I had a chance to pop into the fabulous London Ballet Theatre’s open studio last week. It was simply dazzling. There’s such a wonderful energy in those spaces, a buzzing creative energy that really pushes you as a dancer. Seeing those beautiful, athletic dancers pushing themselves inspires me so much! The energy in those open studios – pure magic, I tell you!

Now, a quick update on my mission for a world dressed in pink tutus. You won't believe this - a lady on the train just complimented me on my tutu. She thought it was fabulous. See? The revolution is starting! And who knows, maybe by the end of this adventure, I’ll have persuaded a whole host of Bulwell residents to join the pink tutu movement.

Now, it’s time to put my ballet shoes back on and take to the streets. Stay tuned for an update later about the magical dance studios I’ve found and any adventures I have with local ballet schools! And I’ll be keeping my eye out for all things pink, in hopes of finding some new and exciting tutu inspirations for my upcoming collection. Who knows? Maybe you’ll see a future collection “Pink and Black in Bulwell” or “City Lights and Ballet Lights.” The world is my oyster!

Lots of love, Emma x
