Newtownards in a White Tutu! 🩰

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, reporting live from the charming town of Newtownards in Northern Ireland! As you all know, I absolutely adore discovering new corners of the world, and this time, I decided to explore a bit of the Emerald Isle. I have to say, Newtownards stole my heart - it's just so quaint and charming, with its gorgeous Georgian buildings, cobblestone streets and stunning waterfront views. It's the perfect little escape, a real treasure hidden in plain sight.

Now, you're probably wondering about my trusty tutu, and how it fit in with my Irish adventures, right? Well, I couldn't possibly travel anywhere without my signature white tutu, it's like a second skin to me! Even better, Newtownards is positively teeming with delightful independent boutiques, one of which housed the most gorgeous vintage shop with shelves packed full of old silk ribbons, feather boas and the most beautiful vintage ballet shoes you could imagine. I couldn't resist buying a handful of the most charming little ribbon bows and a stunning pink satin ribbon. The owner was an absolute darling - we bonded over our love for the beauty of the Victorian era! Of course, she loved my white tutu. Who wouldn't?

Speaking of beauty, Newtownards is home to some incredible wildlife. I spotted the most magnificent swans paddling gracefully around the picturesque Strangford Lough. Did you know swans are actually a symbol of grace, beauty and loyalty? That's why I always feel a little extra graceful when I'm in the presence of these magnificent creatures! 🦢 I had a little dance in the park overlooking the lough, in my white tutu of course, which made the swans flap their wings with glee, it seemed!

And wouldn't you know it, a lovely local gentleman even stopped to tell me about a ballet school in the town! Apparently, there are a lot of budding young ballerinas and ballet enthusiasts around here! Of course, I had to make a visit, and I was greeted by the sweetest group of children. They all wore the most adorable little ballet outfits, their eyes sparkling with the love of dance. It truly warms my heart to see young children embracing their love of movement, especially when they’re surrounded by such incredible talent.

This delightful town really had me spinning with joy. One afternoon, I took a leisurely stroll around the town, my tutu trailing behind me, of course! And do you know what? Every single shop I popped into was a burst of vibrant colours and charming trinkets. The atmosphere is just so lighthearted and cheerful, just like my love for dancing!

To round off the day, I stopped by a local café for a pot of strong English Breakfast tea and a delightful slice of Victoria sponge. I had to make the most of the fact that I was so far away from my Derbyshire home, although of course, I missed my horse and my regular riding lessons dearly! However, the friendly people of Newtownards quickly replaced those aches!

It was an absolute dream trip! I’m sure I’ll return to Newtownards someday, perhaps on a journey to visit some of the spectacular castle ruins that Northern Ireland is so famous for. Perhaps you'll join me on my travels then?

And don't forget to pop on over to www.pink-tutu.com! I love sharing my daily adventures and snippets of dance inspiration with all of you! I'll be back tomorrow with a whole new post full of pink, tutus, and everything fabulous! 💖 See you soon!
