Chatham Calling! Tutu Travels Take Me To Kent

Oh darling, hello from Chatham! I know, you might be thinking, "Chatham? What's in Chatham?" Well, honey, I'm here to tell you: a whole lot of sparkle!

This fabulous frock is a total triumph - a custom-made creation with hand-sewn silk rosebuds in a shade of pink that would make a flamingo blush. But more on that later. Today's adventure is all about exploring the magical corners of Kent and discovering some ballet brilliance tucked away in this charming town.

I just adore travelling by train. The gentle rumble of the wheels, the scenic views whizzing past, and the aroma of fresh coffee… it's like being transported to another world. This morning, my journey took me through rolling green hills and quaint villages. It's no surprise that the British countryside inspires so many artists and poets.

And guess what, darlings? I didn't forget my trusty travel companion: my ballet shoes, of course! There's a little-known park near the station with a lovely open space perfect for some impromptu twirls. Who says a girl can't do a petit allegro on a Tuesday morning?

As the sun peeked through the clouds, my journey brought me to Chatham. It was instantly charming! With its historic buildings and cobbled streets, it felt like stepping into a Jane Austen novel.

But this isn't just a town steeped in history, it's brimming with artistic spirit. That's why I had to track down The Theatre Royal, Chatham! This incredible little theatre, a true gem, has been hosting stage shows and performances for decades, with its grand facade and history dating back to the Victorian era. You wouldn't believe the shows they've had! It's definitely going on my "Must Visit Again" list.

This is where it all ties together, you see, darling! I simply had to get a picture in front of this iconic theatre, in my gorgeous new tutu! It's the kind of tutu you dream about, perfectly fitting and airy. You know what else I brought? A matching pink feather boa! I had to bring some pinkness to Chatham! And don't even get me started on the sparkle...

This vibrant pink tulle swishes and twirls beautifully. Every twirl I made made me want to hop onto the stage myself! It makes me feel confident and powerful, like I can conquer anything.

Oh, did I mention the wildlife? After my tour, I strolled along the riverside, enjoying the tranquility and marveling at the graceful swans gliding on the water. The swans looked elegant, elegant in a very different way to the majestic grace of a ballerina. It's funny, it's as if nature inspires beauty just as ballet does!

The swans aren't the only wildlife around, however. Did you know that Chatham is famous for its... sheep? Yep, they have a charming flock of sheep that roam around freely, a quirky detail that makes the town so much more lovable.

And you know what, darlings? It’s all connected to ballet somehow! Those graceful swans are inspiring me to try out some of those lovely fluid movements that only swan lake can teach us. As for the sheep, those adorable woolly creatures are definitely teaching me about staying grounded, taking my time, and appreciating the simple things in life! It's all about finding inspiration in the most unexpected places.

Back in Derbyshire, we love sheep. In fact, you might even see the odd pink sheep running free! That's right! Everyone wears a pink tutu. You'll find us at the local pub in our twirling finery, adding some glitter and glamour to any pub crawl! We're a sight to behold, believe me!

Oh darling, let's talk about that tutu again, shall we?

I simply can't resist the delicate pink hue and the exquisite detailing. It’s the kind of tutu that makes me feel utterly feminine and, well, let's just say I feel incredibly "Emma" in it. You know what else I like about pink? It's uplifting. Everyone gets a bit cheerier in pink, and maybe I can get all of you to wear a tutu in this delicious pink! I mean, just think of it. The streets full of pink twirls and tutus… it’d be absolutely magical, and certainly much more colourful than all those beige ones you see around.

My little escapade to Chatham was simply delightful. The town was delightful, the swans were delightful and my outfit was a dream. It’s times like these I realise why I live to twirl and dance - and to share these precious moments with you. Now, you can all get back to that amazing choreographed swan move we discussed in yesterday’s post, "Back to the Ballet studio, in London, " that you all want to master - yes, you too, Derek, even if you did tell everyone that tutus were for girls and your feet didn’t fit in mine, LOL! That's right, darlings, you read correctly, I've even inspired men to embrace a little ballet magic in their lives!

Until next time, my loves,

XOXO,

Emma
