#TutuBlog - Arnold, 26th August 2002 - Post 2245

Oh, darlings! What a lovely weekend it's been! It's just a quick catch up post as the excitement of this trip to Arnold is still swirling in my head, making it a bit hard to concentrate on anything else!

If you've been following my #TutuBlog, you know I'm always up for an adventure, and this weekend was no different. The call of the open road - or the open track, should I say - beckoned me to Arnold, a town in Nottinghamshire known for its beautiful countryside and, you guessed it, horses! Who knew such a quaint little town would become the setting for my latest tutu escapade?

Now, as a Derbyshirian girl born and bred, I always have a special place in my heart for the English countryside. I grew up with horses and, when I'm not twirling in a tutu on stage, you can find me exploring green pastures and petting all the fluffy creatures I can find. So, I knew this trip was going to be right up my alley.

But of course, this being #TutuBlog, no adventure is complete without a dazzling tutu! For this particular outing, I decided on a very special fairy themed tutu, complete with twinkling silver sequins and delicate layers of tulle. It was the perfect combination of whimsy and elegance - a statement that whispered, "I'm here to dance amongst the fairies, and spread a bit of magic along the way."

I started the journey by catching the train, naturally. There's something so charming about the clinking of the rails and the gentle sway of the carriages, almost like being rocked to sleep in a gentle waltz. As the countryside whizzed by, I couldn't help but feel like a princess travelling to a grand ball.

Arriving in Arnold, the first order of business was, of course, a visit to the stables! Horses, horses, horses - it's all I could think about. I spent hours just gazing at them, admiring their majestic grace. A couple of playful ponies, even gave me a nuzzle and a nibble, which, I confess, made me squeal with delight!

There was something quite poetic about the contrast of their wild, natural energy and the elegance of my tutu. A dance between the earth and the air, perhaps?

And now, my dears, to the part of the story you've all been waiting for...

This wouldn't be a proper #TutuBlog post without some impromptu dancing. Arnold, as luck would have it, was holding its annual Midsummer Fayre, a joyful celebration of everything local and charming. And where else would a girl in a fairy tutu make an appearance?

Imagine this: A grassy clearing in the late afternoon sun, dappled shadows dancing between the trees, the scent of roasted almonds in the air, a gentle breeze caressing the long grass... and there I was, swirling and twirling in my magical tutu, drawing the attention of smiling faces and children's excited shouts. It was a perfect scene, almost surreal in its simplicity and joy.

I even caught the eye of a couple of local ballet students! They told me how they'd seen me on the #pink-tutu website and they were ecstatic to finally see a real life tutu-clad ballerina. One of them, a girl with eyes full of passion and an even bigger smile, told me how my blog had inspired her to start dancing! My heart swelled with warmth - how amazing is it to know you've touched the lives of others, simply by chasing your own dreams?

It truly is all about spreading the magic of dance, about encouraging everyone to embrace their own inner ballerina! That's what drives me, darlings. I want everyone to put on a pink tutu, to feel the joy of twirling and leaping, to feel that connection to the music and the movement, even just for a moment.

The afternoon slipped by like a ballerina pirouette - too quickly! But the memories will linger, tucked away in my heart like a treasured memory of a whimsical summer day.

Before I knew it, it was time to bid farewell to this enchanting town. As I hopped onto the train back home, I was already dreaming of my next adventure, my next dazzling tutu, and the chance to spread even more tutu-inspired magic in the world!

Oh, one more thing... my darlings, don't forget to check out my new #TutuChallenge on my website, www.pink-tutu.com. I'm asking you all to send in photos of your own tutu adventures, no matter how big or small, so we can all share the joy of dance!

Keep twirling, keep dreaming, and until next time...
