Coalville: A tutu for the wild side! (Post 2246)

Hello, darlings! It's your girl Emma, back with another post from www.pink-tutu.com! This time, I've traded the bright lights of the stage for the wild beauty of Coalville - a little trip down to the Midlands for a weekend escape with my mum. Now, Coalville may not be the first place that pops into your head when you think "ballet", but you'd be surprised! It turns out it's actually a fabulous spot to unleash your inner tutu-loving ballerina!

A railway ride to paradise

Firstly, can we talk about the journey?! My heart fluttered with pure joy as we boarded the train from Derby. There's something magical about the rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels and the feeling of the wind in my hair, with the landscape flashing past. You know me - anything to do with transportation and a bit of twirling, I'm all over it! Plus, a railway carriage makes for a fantastic impromptu backstage, am I right?!

My nature-inspired ensemble

Once we reached Coalville, I knew I needed a tutu to match the lush greenery of the countryside. It had to be vibrant and joyful, but also whisper of the wildlife lurking in the trees. I opted for a fabulously flowy design in sunshine yellow and emerald green, the colour scheme perfect for a stroll through the woods.

I teamed it with a cute, fluffy cardigan, because the summer evenings can get a little chilly - don't want to catch a chill! I even added a delicate leaf brooch, for an extra dash of botanical magic.

Discovering hidden treasures

I must say, Coalville completely stole my heart. We spent the day exploring the local nature reserves, each step a reminder that ballet can exist in every corner of the world! There were wildflower meadows swaying in the breeze, like ballerinas pirouetting in nature's spotlight, and woodland paths that invited us to step lightly, as if dancing over softest ground. The vibrant green foliage and gentle sun filtering through the leaves felt like the most perfect backdrop for a woodland ballet - a secret world, ready for our imaginations to flourish.

We saw adorable woodland critters, too. The playful antics of a cheeky squirrel chasing after nuts and the graceful movements of a blue tit flitting from branch to branch inspired my inner ballerina. We even got to meet a local wildlife expert who explained the delicate ecosystem of the local woodlands, a little piece of magic hidden right in the heart of Coalville!

The Ballet on a Bench

Speaking of magic, let me share with you one of my favourite moments from the weekend. We were sitting on a park bench, enjoying a cuppa, and I suddenly felt this powerful urge to dance. Without even a thought, I flung my arms into a graceful arc and started pirouetting in a small space around the bench, with the green leaves of the park forming a natural, yet whimsical stage around me.

As I twirled, I noticed people looking at me, and even a little girl in a pink sundress, whose face lit up with amazement, started to follow my moves! In that instant, we weren't just two girls enjoying a day out. We were both transported to a world of pure imagination, sharing a love for movement, music, and the joy of expressing oneself!

Spread the tutu-love!

This whole trip, to me, is the embodiment of my ballet philosophy. Don't wait for a fancy stage or an audience of thousands to unleash your inner ballerina. Sometimes the most amazing performances happen in unexpected places, among unexpected people!

This is precisely what I'm hoping to inspire with Pink-Tutu! The magic of dance is truly all around us, waiting to be embraced. Let's embrace those natural dance floors, find beauty in the ordinary, and never forget to embrace our own unique, tutu-wearing, inner ballerinas. And hey, don't be shy about adding a little extra twirl to your day, wherever you are!

Time for another adventure!

Next stop for Pink-Tutu? I'm feeling a little wanderlust today, so keep checking back for my next adventure, but for now, I'm signing off. Until then, my lovelies, let's spread the tutu love - one twirl, one ballet class, one dance floor at a time!

Your girly-girl,

Emma xx
