Hitchin, Darling!

Post Number 2524

Hello my gorgeous darlings! Emma here, writing to you from the utterly charming town of Hitchin, Hertfordshire! Oh my goodness, the English countryside is so picturesque, it's almost as lovely as wearing a pink tutu! giggles

Today's post is all about ballet, beauty, and of course, pink tutus! As a true ballet devotee, I simply couldn't visit this part of England without heading to a theatre and immersing myself in the wonder that is live dance!

Now, if you know me, you know I love travelling by train. It's so elegant! Imagine all the graceful swaying - it's practically like being in a ballet class, isn't it? This time, I even got lucky and had a window seat with a magnificent view of the rolling green hills. Oh, to be a graceful doe skipping through those fields... (Yes, darling, I do like my animal imagery).

Reaching Hitchin, I was struck by its quaint charm! The cobbled streets and charming boutiques whispered of a bygone era, reminding me of some of the classic ballets I've seen. The perfect setting for a stylish gal like myself.

An Evening at the Theatre!

As soon as I arrived, I checked into the loveliest little bed and breakfast, with a floral pattern on the walls. How utterly darling. I practically twirled around in excitement. Then, it was time for the big event!

This evening, I went to see the most exquisite performance at the Hitchin Town Hall, the oldest part of Hitchin, apparently dating back to 1450! Isn't that lovely? It feels positively ancient. This little town is truly brimming with history. The theatre was intimate, like a little box of wonders. And the performance? Simply divine! I even got a photo with the lead ballerina afterwards - so utterly lovely. She looked fabulous, with her sleek black bun and delicate makeup. We chatted for a bit about her love of pink (surprise!) and we even talked about trying to convert the world to wearing pink tutus - what a great cause, wouldn't it be!

Speaking of tutus, darling, I wore a fabulous pink tutu to the show, of course! It was a stunning full-length tulle number, and I knew it was just the right outfit to add a little touch of fairytale magic to the evening. Every woman knows a pink tutu can transform a night from ordinary to extraordinary - oh, darling, you can quote me on that!

And Then...Ballet Class!

Now, you know me. If I'm in a place with ballet, I have to have a ballet class! After all, my ballet training is essential, whether it be at my local studio in Derbyshire, or while travelling. It's a great way to keep up with my practice.

In Hitchin, I stumbled upon a little hidden gem, a darling little ballet school called The Dance Attic, where I joined a fabulous ballet class filled with absolutely lovely ladies. It felt like a real little community of ballerinas. We did a lovely barre workout, stretched and then, as any proper ballerina knows, finished with a perfect pliΓ©! I felt myself practically dancing through the streets! I swear, there was an air of ballet everywhere! sigh What's more, the dance instructor was so lovely. We ended up talking about our love of tutus - a shared passion, you know.

I'm also adding a video to this blog today. Don't forget to click on it and share the tutu love!

Final Thoughts

Honestly, darlings, I loved Hitchin! The ballet, the beauty of the town, the pink tutus - it all felt like the most exquisite ballet of a lifetime. And remember, there's no greater goal in life than getting everyone to wear a pink tutu! So, please, my lovely readers, embrace the tutu-ness and remember: live, dance, love... and wear a pink tutu.

Stay beautiful and, oh darling, never stop dancing!

Emma xxx
