Kendal Calling! šŸ©°šŸ’•

Post Number: 2550

Hey lovely lot, itā€™s Emma here, writing to you from the bustling (and slightly damp) streets of Kendal! Yes, I know, it seems a bit random ā€“ whatā€™s a pink-tutu-loving ballerina doing in the Lake District, right? But hear me outā€¦ šŸ˜‰

The thing is, Iā€™m a bit of a travel nut, and whenever I get the chance to hop on a train (or ride a horse, wink, wink!), I just go for it. Kendal is a picturesque little town nestled in the heart of the Lakes, and itā€™s famed for its beautiful scenery and, drumroll pleaseā€¦ Kendal Calling!

Now, if you've been following me for a while, you know my heart skips a beat whenever I hear the words ā€˜music festivalā€™. Add a few open air theatres and artsy exhibitions, and Iā€™m practically jumping for joy! This little festival promises a whirlwind of fun, and naturally, my purple tutu was making an appearance (because honestly, whatā€™s a festival without a bit of twirling, am I right?).

Ballet by the Lake!

And hereā€™s the best part - Kendal Calling also features the incredible ā€œBallet by the Lakeā€! Itā€™s not every day you get to witness world-class ballet performances under the stars, with the rugged beauty of the Lake District as your backdrop. Talk about a magical experience! I snagged tickets for their production of ā€œSwan Lakeā€ - oh, how I love that one! And believe me, those Lake District nights have never felt so elegant. Itā€™s a real treat for the eyes and the soul!

But before we delve into the beauty of it all, letā€™s rewind a little, shall we?

A Trip to the Peaks and Dales

As always, a journey is just as important as the destination, and this one was no different! I decided to make a weekend of it and embark on a delightful trip to the Peak District before heading to Kendal. You guys know Iā€™m a Derbyshire girl at heart, so it was wonderful to get back to my roots, feel the crisp mountain air on my face, and marvel at the panoramic views.

This time around, I traded my dancing shoes for a pair of comfy walking boots and explored the breathtaking scenery on foot. I even stumbled upon a field filled with beautiful, plump sheep (oh, theyā€™re so soft!), and a family of friendly, furry, brown rabbits. Wildlife always brightens up my day. You can't deny they're the cutest creatures on this planet!

Back to the Festival: Tutu and All

Now, back to Kendal! The festival is alive with energy, a kaleidoscope of colours, and infectious tunes that seep into your soul. Iā€™m not afraid to say, I have fallen for the unique vibe of this place, and its welcoming community. Everyone seems happy to chat and enjoy the experience together. You truly feel like you're part of a big, beautiful, and friendly family.

Oh, and speaking of family, did I tell you I met a little girl named Lucy at a workshop I attended earlier today? She had the biggest smile and spark in her eyes, and she asked me with the cutest, squeaky voice: "Do you dance in a tutu? You're like a fairy!ā€ And there, right there in that moment, it felt like my heart just did a grand jetĆ© across the stage!

We spent the next hour twirling and leaping together, giggling and creating little dances of our own. It reminded me of the simple joys of movement and expression ā€“ the purest form of magic!

You know what? Seeing that joy in Lucy's eyes truly made me think: maybe this pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-loving blogger could actually inspire others to embrace the beauty of dance. Maybe one day, all those festivals, the streets, the open spaces will be filled with twirling people in pink tutus - how fun would that be!?

Pink Tutu Power!

Maybe it's time we shake things up! Embrace your inner ballerina and unleash your own unique blend of confidence and joy, even if it means just twirling your way down the street or rocking your own mini-tutu on a day out.

To me, wearing a pink tutu isnā€™t just about fashion - it's a declaration of who we are, a symbol of our passion and our spirit. So, tell me, what are you waiting for? Come join the pink-tutu revolution! It's a world of happiness and magic just waiting to be unleashed. šŸ˜‰

And Iā€™ll be right here, writing about all the adventures I encounter, sharing my love for ballet and all things pink.

Until next time, darlingā€¦ let your tutu spirit shine! āœØ
