Morden, My Lovelies! Post 2726

Oh darling, hello! Fancy seeing you here on this rather splendid December day. How's everything with you all? I know I've been a little quiet lately, what with rehearsals for "Swan Lake" (I can't believe we're just a week away! More on that in another post!) but believe me, the old Tutu machine has been whirring along.

So, where were we? Oh yes, my latest escapade, the utterly delightful jaunt to Morden, a truly charming place you simply must add to your list if you haven't been already!

I travelled by, you guessed it, train, the great iron steed that whisks me away to these wonderful corners of England. The train ride was such a treat, you wouldn't believe the lovely ladies I met, all decked out in their own fabulous festive frocks. It truly made me think... what if we all wore a pink tutu on public transport? I know, it's a vision of loveliness, isn't it? I mean, just imagine the joyful chaos!

Once I arrived in Morden, the excitement started. There was a bustling market full of colourful stalls. I snagged a pair of exquisite pink gloves (a total must-have!) and a gorgeous silk scarf with little ballerinas printed on it. Talk about matching my vibe! I always say, there's never enough pink in your life, and these purchases certainly fit the bill.

Of course, the main event was the ballet performance! Morden Theatre has this rather delightful old-world charm about it, and it truly transports you back in time with the plush red velvet seats and twinkling chandeliers. Oh, I'm getting chills just thinking about it!

The show itself was just spectacular! A lovely adaptation of "Coppelia," with a talented group of young dancers who filled the stage with such vibrant energy. It was absolutely breathtaking. The ballerina playing the main role, she was amazing! Her graceful movements just made my heart sing. Seeing their joy for ballet, it really sparked something in me. I must, simply must, encourage everyone to have a go! A little plié here, a bit of pirouette there, it can only brighten your day!

Oh, I simply adore the community feeling of a town like Morden. They had a little street performance outside the theatre too! This amazing chap in a velvet coat, twirling around like a spinning top, doing an impromptu "Swan Lake" act. We even got him to join us for a little photo-op in front of the old town hall. You'd think he'd have seen a few ballerinas in his time! It was such a heartwarming moment, reminding me how ballet connects us all.

But it wouldn't be a proper Emma blog post without some nature. There's just something so magical about wildlife. Morden has a beautiful park where I spotted a fox flitting between the trees. Just look at him, all sharp and clever with his reddish coat and that bushy tail! He wouldn't dare come near my tutu, oh no! He seemed quite content with his little foraging adventure. Nature truly inspires my heart, and a moment of stillness with the wildlife makes all the rushing of life a little less daunting, doesn't it?

You know, it wasn't just the ballet or the charming little town or the fabulous fox I encountered, it was the atmosphere. Morden exuded warmth, the kind that wraps around you and fills you with happiness. It truly had that welcoming and charming "Derbyshire" vibe I miss so much, especially when I'm in a new town. If I had to move, I think I'd quite happily settle in Morden. Maybe build a little pink palace near the park. With a balcony, of course, where I can practice my pliés.

Anyway, darlings, that was just a snippet of my Morden adventure. So much more to share, like my discovery of the quaintest little bookshop, filled with stories about fairies and princesses (because, who doesn't need a bit of fairytale in their life!), and the most exquisite, fluffy, pink cupcake at a delightful little cafe near the park.

Stay tuned for more! But, if you haven't already, head over to my beloved www.pink-tutu.com! It's a joy to connect with all of you and to share my passion for life, pink, and everything beautiful.

See you tomorrow, my loves!

Emma x
