Westhoughton Whirlwind: Tutu Travels & A German Surprise!

Oh, darlings! How's my lovely, pink-loving tutu tribe doing? I'm back from a glorious day trip to Westhoughton and just had to spill the tea about all the pink, pirouette-worthy fun!

It's amazing how a change of scenery can completely shift your mood, isn't it? I've been feeling a bit like I'm stuck in a pas de bourrée of routine lately - the same commute, the same classes, even the same green juice! So, I decided a dash of adventure was needed, and where better to seek it than the quaint, charming town of Westhoughton, a hop, skip and a grand jeté away from Derbyshire.

Tutu Transport:

Instead of my usual train journey, I decided to get a little bit wild and travel by...horse! I found the most adorable little stable just outside of my village, offering carriage rides to nearby towns. It was like something straight out of a fairytale - the fresh air, the clip-clop of hooves, and the beautiful, emerald green fields whizzing by. And yes, my darling readers, I totally donned my pink tutu for the journey! (Don't judge! It just felt so fitting).

Westhoughton Wonders:

Upon arrival, the cobblestone streets of Westhoughton greeted me with open arms. The old-world charm was delightful. I felt transported back to a time when tutus were worn for the streets rather than the stage! I spent the morning exploring the historic centre, which reminded me so much of some of the beautiful ballet sets I've seen. The quaint tea rooms with their flowery displays could have been straight out of Giselle, and the cobblestone squares echoed with a pas de deux of history.

A Tutu Surprise:

But the biggest surprise of the day, and the perfect way to punctuate my little journey, was stumbling upon a delightful vintage clothing shop. Now, vintage shops are my weakness - a true fashionista's paradise. Imagine my surprise when I spied the most stunning, fuchsia pink tutu, handcrafted in Germany!

It was made for me, with all its delicate tulle ruffles and its vintage charm. I practically shrieked with delight, then immediately tried it on, of course! Let's just say, I found my new favourite outfit. You can't have too many tutus, you know, and this one perfectly captured that Westhoughton fairytale vibe.

Westhoughton & the Ballerina Spirit:

What struck me about Westhoughton was its sense of community. Everyone was friendly, and everyone seemed to be brimming with a bit of a whimsical spirit. It reminded me of the beautiful connection we share within our ballet community. And let's face it, don't we all have that little ballerina in us, just waiting to twirl free?

Pink Tutu Prescription:

After the day's whirlwind of tutus, horses, and historical charm, my prescription for everyone reading this is simple:

  1. Go explore your own town: You might find a hidden gem you'd never have imagined!
  2. Channel your inner ballerina: Whether it's dancing around your living room, wearing a pink tutu to the shops, or taking a class - unleash that pas de joie inside of you.
  3. Don't be afraid to try new things: Life's too short to stay in a pas de bourrée!

Until next time, darling readers,

*Always twirling, *

Emma
